We are looking for a Distribution Management Specialist, based in Tokyo, Japan.

Your Team

Our Distribution Management team plays a key role in supporting business growth and strengthening relationships with brokers, clients, and internal stakeholders across Japan and international markets. Working closely with underwriting and other business functions, we help drive distribution initiatives, provide market intelligence, and support the delivery of high-quality service to our partners and customers. Our team values collaboration, innovation, and a customer-focused approach to achieving sustainable growth.

The Impact You Will Have

Reporting to the Regional Head of Distribution Management in Asia and the Local Head of Distribution Management in Japan.

Some of your specific responsibilities could include:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with insurance agencies, brokers, customers, and other key business partners, with a particular focus on insurance agencies associated with banks and trading companies.
• Support the planning, coordination, and execution of external events for customers, business partners, and other key stakeholders.
• Support policy renewals and contribute to the acquisition of new business opportunities to drive sustainable and profitable growth.
• Support the development and implementation of sales and distribution initiatives for Corporate Insurance and Specialty Lines products in alignment with business objectives.
• Monitor market trends, identify customer needs and emerging opportunities, and contribute to marketing and business development initiatives.
• Collaborate closely with Underwriting, Claims, Risk Consulting, and other internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions and services to customers and distribution partners.
• Promote Allianz Commercial’s products, services, and value proposition, and contribute to strengthening the company’s brand presence in the market.

What You’ll Bring to the Role

• Minimum 5 years of experience and sound knowledge in Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance for corporate clients.
• Experience in sales, business development, account management, or distribution management within the insurance industry is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with customers, business partners, and internal stakeholders.
• Positive, proactive, and highly motivated, with a willingness to learn and contribute to business growth.
• Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
• Fluent Japanese language proficiency is required.
• Intermediate or higher English proficiency, primarily for reading and writing business documents and emails.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• The ability to ensure ethical AI practices and stay updated with emerging AI technologies will be key to maintaining a competitive advantage.
