Industrial Electric Supply (IES) – Summer Internship
Who We Are
Industrial Electric Supply (IES) was founded in 1977 and is a privately owned, full-line, full-service wholesale electrical distributor. We supply electrical, lighting, industrial, data and telecommunications networking products, wire and cable, tools, and safety equipment to the utility, construction, commercial, and industrial markets.

Internship Overview
The Industrial Electric Supply Internship is designed to provide hands-on experience in wholesale electrical distribution. This is not a shadowing role — you will actively contribute to day-to-day operations while gaining exposure to multiple areas of the business.
You will rotate through key functions including sales, logistics, customer service, marketing, and project management processes. The goal is to help you understand how a full-service electrical distributor operates while allowing you to explore potential career paths within the industry.
Key Responsibilities
• Rotate through various departments including sales, logistics, customer service, marketing, and project operations.
• Develop working knowledge of electrical equipment and distribution processes.
• Maintain clear and professional project documentation and communications to ensure accountability and accuracy.
• Communicate with customers via phone, email, online platforms, and counter sales.
• Provide technical information and pricing support to customers using vendor catalogs, websites, and internal specialists.
• Develop and maintain vendor relationships.
• Support vendor promotions and specified product initiatives.
• Learn and utilize EPICOR/Eclipse ERP and Job Management systems, along with IES’s e-commerce platform.
• Participate in customer and vendor-sponsored events.
• Use Microsoft Office and online tools to research and respond to customer requests.
• Participate in training programs, including on-site, off-site, and web-based sessions to stay current with product technology.
• Promote the full range of IES products, services, and solutions across all divisions.

Education Requirements
Incoming Junior or Senior, or May 2026 graduate, pursuing an undergraduate degree in Sales, Business, Supply Chain, Industrial Distribution, or a related field.
Physical Requirements
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Ability to access various departments within the facility.
• Sitting, standing, walking, bending, and reaching as needed.

Salary Range: $20.00 per hour. Starting pay within this range may vary based on geography, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications.
