Job Description

Summary

Responsible for the planning, designing, construction and maintenance activities for the Electric distribution system. Also, responsible for serving as a technical adviser on all Distribution projects.

Pay Range: (Depending on qualifications and experience)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1) Review existing system and determine location, type and priority for system construction projects.

2) Award projects to consultant engineers.

3) Continuously review and evaluate engineer projects.

4) Act as a Technical Adviser to Project Coordinators

5) Assist Project Coordinators with technical design.

6) Determine needs of customers requiring GP&L services.

7) Decide appropriate methods of providing services and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Four-year Electrical Engineering college degree
  • Up to 1 -2 years related experience

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Preferred Qualifications

Education/ Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis on power system design
  • 6-8 years experience in distribution design, construction or maintenance
  • PE License preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Advanced skill in Microsoft Office
  • Skill in short circuit analysis
  • Skill in load flow, PLS-Cad and Auto Cad
  • Ability to read and generate One Line Diagram
  • Ability to read and generate construction prints

Licenses and Certifications

  • Valid Class C Texas driver's license
  • PE License preferred
