Job Description

The Manager of Distribution Center Operations will oversee operations within our Weekend shift (Saturday, Sunday and Monday) of a regional distribution center, ensuring that all processes are running smoothly, efficiently, and safely. This role will involve managing, both directly and indirectly, team members and supervisors, coordinating workflow, and addressing any operational issues that arise during the shift.

CORE FUNCTIONS

oLead, develop and motivate shift employees.

oSet goals and provide shift direction. Ensure department milestones/goals are met.

oFoster a positive and productive work environment.

oOversee shift operations to ensure efficiency and accuracy.

oCoordinate with other shift managers to ensure seamless operations.

oEnsure all shipments are properly documented and comply with company policies and procedures.

oManage resources and adhere to approved budgets.

oHas full authority over personnel actions.

oImplement and maintain quality assurance standards and procedures.

oAddress and resolve escalated issues related to order fulfillment.

oPromote a culture of safety and ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.

oConduct regular safety audits and training sessions.

oInvestigate safety incidents and report results to leadership. Implement short- and long-term countermeasures.

oAct as the main point of contact for shift-related issues and concerns.

oCommunicate effectively with team members, management, and other departments.

oPrepare and present shift reports and performance data to management.

oIdentify areas for improvement and implement process enhancements.

oStay updated with industry trends and best practices.

oLead or participate in special projects and initiatives aimed at improving distribution center operations.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

·High school Diploma or GED required.

·Bachelor’s Degree in logistics, business, or related field preferred.

·6+ years of experience in operations or logistics required

·3+ years of experience at a leadership level with similar responsibilities preferred.

Skills, Abilities, and Knowledge

·Experienced in leading a team of direct and indirect reports.

·Ability to respond to customer or carrier requests in a timely and professional manner.

·Ability to adapt to changes while maintaining productivity measures.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

·Skilled in Microsoft Office and ERP/WMS software.

·Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

·Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Travel

·Minimal travel may be required.
