About the Role:
Manage the assigned functional area of the Distribution Center (“DC”) which may be Receiving, Picking, Packing, or Shipping. Organize and lead the functional team, maximize team productivity, minimize operating costs, and meet fulfillment service levels expectations of all OXM Brands. Provide strategic recommendations on actions or processes to improve efficiency and support continued growth of the DC.
Essential Job Functions
•Manage the assigned functional area (Receiving, Picking, Packing, or Shipping), including department-specific operational responsibilities supporting the Exotec automation system, MAWMS, Deep Sky ASRS, inventory integrity, Brand service expectations, and cross-functional workflow coordination, directly and/or through assigned Supervisors, Leads, and supporting clerical staff.
•Review workload or demand forecast to identify daily, short-term, and long-term required service outputs. Strategically organize the team and assign priorities in order to meet the necessary output.
•Clearly communicate functional area process, operations and daily instructions to employees; adapt as necessary to changing priorities.
•Monitor productivity and provide strategic recommendations to improve efficiency; produce and distribute related KPI reporting. Utilize data and reporting to understand, report and improve efficiency.
•Work with Sr. DC Management and/or Brands to resolve problems and/or priorities affecting the assigned functional area.
•Identify and implement new operational and management systems, processes, and best practices as needed to adjust to new Brand requirements, volume growth, and/or technology changes.
•Identify and communicate headcount requirements and assist in the hiring process as needed.
•Ensure that team has all information required to successfully complete their work. Identify and resolve training requirements for team members.
•Purchase and manage inventory of any needed materials.
•Monitor equipment to ensure it is in good operating condition; contact Maintenance with any issues.
•Provide labor and related expense budgets and forecasts.
•Educate and enforce company policies and safety procedures.
•Assess team members’ performance, attendance and productivity; manage necessary corrective actions and the performance evaluation/compensation process for assigned team members.
•Provides team management including; interviewing, selecting, and training employees; setting or recommending rates of pay and hours of work; maintaining production records; planning work, etc
•Receiving- Manage new item setup, ensuring key item attributes (dimensions, weight, unit of measure/pack configuration, barcode/UPC, and storage requirements) are accurately maintained in MAWMS prior to induction.
- Oversee inbound freight scheduling, dock door assignments, appointment compliance, carrier check-in, and yard flow to minimize detention and demurrage charges.
- Verify receipt accuracy against purchase orders and packing lists; resolve overages, shortages, and damages (OS&D) in accordance with Oxford Brand requirements and SOX documentation standards.
- Manage induction of received inventory into the Deep Sky ASRS and MAWMS, ensuring accurate put away location assignment and timely system updates to minimize inventory synchronization discrepancies.
- Oversee the decant process, including splitting oversized cases into Skypod-eligible containers and multi-SKU cartons into single-SKU containers, while managing the inbound 'hospital' area for damaged, unidentified, or discrepant cartons requiring resolution.
- Oversee quality inspection processes and coordinate with Brand partners regarding vendor compliance issues, including mis-shipments, labeling non-conformance, and packaging defects.
- Ensure Brand satisfaction through proactive communication and investigation of issues originating within Receiving.
•Picking- Manage goods-to-person picking at Exotec automated pick stations, as well as pickers and stockers working in the manual pick modules.
- Manage the compaction process of splitting multi-SKU totes within the Exotec system.
- Work closely with the Pack Manager to ensure product flows evenly between Picking and Packing, balancing throughput to avoid bottlenecks or starvation at pack stations.
- Partner with Inventory Control to investigate and resolve pick discrepancies contributing to Deep Sky/MAWMS inventory synchronization issues.
- Ensure Brand satisfaction through proactive communication and investigation of issuesoriginating within Picking.
Packing- Manage pack station staffing and workflow to meet carton and order throughput targets while maintaining pack accuracy standards.
- Oversee carton selection and dunnage/void-fill usage to ensure proper product protection and presentation.
- Work closely with the Picking Manager to ensure product flows evenly between Picking and Packing, balancing throughput to avoid bottlenecks or starvation at pack stations.
- Partner with Inventory Control to investigate and resolve pack-related discrepancies, including short-picks, mispicks identified at packing, and inventory adjustments required to correct MAWMS/Deep Sky synchronization issues.
- Monitor pack-to-ship handoff timing to ensure orders clear packing in time to meet carrier cutoff times.
- Ensure Brand-specific packaging requirements are executed accurately and consistently.
- Ensure Brand satisfaction through proactive communication and investigation of issues originating within Packing.
Shipping- Manage outbound carrier scheduling, load planning, and dock door utilization to meet daily trailer and parcel carrier cutoff times.
- Oversee manifesting and small parcel/LTL routing decisions within MAWMS to ensure service level compliance.
- Oversee the closing line, where retail and wholesale orders receive a corrugate lid and shipping label before proceeding to the DMWH tilt tray ship sorter.
- Oversee carton creation equipment that produces picking containers for retail and wholesale orders.
- Ensure Bills of Lading (BOL), packing slips, Advanced Shipping Notices (ASN), Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), and Brand- or retailer-specific compliance labeling are accurate prior to trailer close.
- Support Brand partners with last-minute shipping upgrades, shipment modifications, and tracking requests.
- Maintain strong working relationships with parcel carriers and adjust pickup schedules as necessary to support daily shipping volumes and carrier cutoff requirements.
- Monitor final inventory relief transactions between MAWMS and Deep Sky at ship confirmation to ensure inventory synchronization and SOX audit trail integrity.
- Ensure Brand satisfaction through proactive communication and investigation of issues originating within Shipping.

- Responsible for achieving specific daily output requirements for an assigned functional area through management of the activities of multiple non-exempt employees in a production-related role.
- Sets priorities for the team to ensure task completion.
- Works within general scope of DC operational requirements and goals, however manages day to day aspects assigned functional area with high degree of autonomy.

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS
Education and Certifications, Experience and Skills, and Competencies
- Associate or Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent work experience
- Desirable: Certified to operate warehouse equipment. (Forklifts, Jacks, Cherry Pickers, etc.)
- Generally, 6+ years of relevant work experience in Distribution or Manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems, ERPs, Parcel Shipping or inventory management software.
- Experience with direct people management.
- Familiarity with at least one key fulfillment function: Receiving, Stocking, Replenishment, Picking, Packing, and/or Shipping
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel)
- Able to work with all levels of staff
- Detail oriented, well organized, excels in communication, listens and gets clarification
- Balances team and individual responsibilities; contributes to building a positive team spirit
- Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, looks for ways to improve and promote quality
