This position is accountable for the administration of the UndergroundDamage Prevention (UDP) section's ticket-screeningprocess, which includes the processing and assignment ofdig-request tickets from state one-call associations(OH, PA, NY, NJ, MD, WV), representing the FirstEnergy operating companies on behalf of Energy Delivery – Joint Use & Cable Locating.

Ticket Screening Operations
Demonstrateasolidcommitmenttoallaspectsof safety.
Perform various duties in a timely manner associated with screening/processing underground (UG) locate tickets from stateone-call associations in Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Maryland and West Virginia.
Efficiently evaluate each ticket forthe digbox'sproximity toUGfacilities, using electronic ticket-management software and GIS View.
Assignticketstocontractorstobelocatedandmarkedoutasneeded.
Expediteemergencytickets.
Verifythatallticketshavebeensuccessfullytransmittedto locatecontractor(s).
Verify that contractors have received tickets andresponded positively, inaccordance with state one-call laws and FirstEnergy requirements.
Provide training in the electronic ticket-screeningsystem application tonew ticket-screening staff and other dependent departments, such as Claims.
Provide various reports andad hoc queries, using the electronic ticket-managementsoftware application data.
Work effectively with ITandticket-managementsoftware vendors todevelop enhancements and troubleshoot problems.
Workeffectively ina collaborative environment with other departments andorganizations (e.g. state engineering, Claims, IT, contractors, state one call centers, software vendor).
Provideresolutionstocustomer, contractor, and excavator inquiries
AssistClaimsDepartmentstaffwith investigationofdamagetoUGfacilities.
Learn toidentify process improvements andbestpractices tosupport FirstEnergy’s ability to comply with 811 regulatorycommitments.
Understand statefederallaw andcompany practices asit relates tounderground damage prevention safety
Exercisesounddecisionmakingasitrelatestoticketscreeningoperations.
Participate in the storm restoration process and be available to work extended hours as needed.
Attend/completeallrequiredregulatorytraining.
of Qualifications
An associate degree in a related discipline: Business, Accounting, Economics,Engineering technology AND 2-3 yrs ofrelated work experience, or aHigh School Diploma/ GED AND 4+ years of related experience.
General understanding of FirstEnergy’s Accident Prevention Handbook and effective application in the workplace.
