Supervise the construction, maintenance and operation of the distribution system to provide safe, timely and reliable service to customers within capital and operation and maintenance budgets, and provide service restoration efforts when necessary.

Distribution System Supervisor:

What You'll Do:

  • Provide leadership and direction to provide a safe work environment and a safe distribution system for employees and the public.
  • Promote and enforce adherence to the Company's Accident Prevention and Safety and Health programs to safeguard employees, the general public and Company property.
  • Supervise resources and assets to meet business unit and corporate goals.
  • Supervise the construction, maintenance and operation of the distribution system within appropriate design standards to meet regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Provide leadership and direction to ensure all employees are well trained, knowledgeable, enabled and focused on the success of the company.
  • Supervise resources within assigned budgets.
  • Supervise resources to provide safe and timely service restoration during outages.
  • Coordinate and monitor the acquisition, cost, use and maintenance of tools, vehicles and equipment.
  • Administer the Company's job performance review and merit salary programs, Management Information and Policy Manual, and employee handbooks and supplements related to assigned personnel.
  • Recommend the promotion, demotion, selection, discipline and dismissal of assigned personnel.
  • Carry out, within the assigned area of responsibility, the Company's program of Equal Employment Opportunity, including its Affirmative Action obligations

What We're Looking For:

Education:

  • High school diploma or General Equivalency Degree (GED).

Experience:

  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in distribution, construction, maintenance, and/or operations.
  • Two years supervisory experience in distribution activities or equivalent experience desired.

Acceptable alternatives include:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of distribution operations and/or utility experience
  • or Associate’s degree and 5 years of distribution operations and/or utility experience.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Commercial Driver’s License for emergency situations such as major storms and restoration activities preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of distribution systems required.
  • Acceptable written and verbal communications skills.
  • Must be able to travel to various locations for extended periods 1 – 5 days during the week.
  • Must be able to see information on computer screen and use computer keyboard.
  • Must be able to hear spoken words via telephone, cell phone or during individual or group meetings.
  • Occasionally working in inclement weather and on uneven surfaces.

$116,255.00 - $151,132.50
