The role | Te tūnga

The Disposal Regulation team is seeking a Disposal Regulation Advisor to support the development and implementation of an effective disposal and appraisal framework across government.

In this role, you will contribute to the frameworks and guidance that enable government agencies to effectively create, manage, and dispose of their records, both physical and born-digital. Your work will support agencies to meet their operational needs while strengthening government accountability, transparency, and the long-term stewardship of public information.

You will work collaboratively across government, providing advice and contributing to the continuous improvement of regulatory systems and information management practices.

What you bring | Nōu te rourou

• Experience or working knowledge in information management, regulatory environments, or archival practice
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information clearly
• Understanding of the New Zealand public sector environment and how government operates
• Awareness of current information technology trends, particularly in digital information management
• Ability to build effective working relationships and contribute positively in collaborative environments
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to work independently, manage priorities, and navigate ambiguity
