Job Description

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Electrical Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in mechanical design, simulation analysis, and validation.
  • Experience with flat panel OLED display and related module processes and failure modes.
  • Experience with mechanical fundamentals such as solid mechanics, mechanics of materials, and viscoelasticity.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's or PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
  • 1 year of experience in technical leadership.
  • Experience with foldable, stretchable display.
  • Knowledge in material science and characterization, particularly for thermoplastics, adhesives, and brittle materials.
  • Proficiency in FEA tools such as ABAQUS, Hypermesh/ANSA/Simlab, MCalibration, and familiarity with techniques of static, dynamic, and thermal analysis.

Our Display Module Engineering team is dedicated to developing and delivering high-performance, reliable, and visually stunning display modules for smartphones, watches, and applications. We strive for continuous improvement and innovation in our designs, manufacturing processes, and material selection to meet the evolving demands of the market.
In this role, you will be a key contributor to the development of display modules in our new products, you will leverage your expertise to conduct analysis on mechanical performance of displays during manufacturing and reliability testing, provide solutions to complex problems and drive validations to meet product requirements.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $159,000-$231,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Design display modules based on optical, electrical, and system integration requirements. Define specifications to ensure their robustness and reliability performance.
  • Lead display architecture development, and introduce new technology, material/stack up, and integration solution.
  • Drive design validation, failure analysis, and root causing efforts, and propose solutions based on analytical data.
  • Conduct FEA simulations including static, dynamic, structural, and thermal analysis to evaluate designs and specifications. Predict risks and guide design, material, and process decisions.
  • Drive material testing and characterization and develop modeling methodologies to simulate complex problems.
