Viridian Staffing's ( www.viridianstaffing.com ) Client is looking for an experienced Retail General Manager for a Cannabis Dispensary about 20 miles east of Brockton, Massachusetts. Founded in 2013, Viridian Staffing ( www.viridianstaffing.com ) is the Original staffing, recruiting, and HR consulting firm solely dedicated to organizations in and supporting the commercial, medical, and industrial cannabis / hemp industry. As the Retail General Manager of a cannabis dispensary, you will be responsible for overseeing daily retail operations, leading a team of approximately 20+ employees, and ensuring consistent execution of company policies, procedures, and operational standards. Working closely wit Team Leads and executive leadership, you will be responsible for managing employee performance, providing coaching and development, implementing training initiatives, maintaining accountability, and ensuring effective communication throughout the organization. This role requires a strong, hands-on retail leader who understands how to build and maintain a high-performing team in a fast-paced retail environment. You should be comfortable conducting regular employee check-ins, managing performance concerns, implementing progressive discipline when appropriate, and ensuring employees understand and meet expectations. You will also be responsible for communicating company initiatives, promotions, product deliveries, vendor events, and operational priorities while ensuring established standard operating procedures are consistently followed. The right person will understand how to translate organizational goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) into actionable priorities for the retail team. You should be comfortable reviewing sales and inventory reports, analyzing spreadsheets, identifying opportunities for operational improvement, and ensuring alignment between front-of-house retail operations and back-of-house inventory processes. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow through on commitments will be essential to your success. You bring with you proven retail management experience, including direct responsibility for employee performance management, staff development, scheduling, operational execution, and accountability. Experience managing teams of 20+ employees in a busy retail environment is strongly preferred. Formal retail management training through an established retail organization, such as Starbucks, CVS, or a similar company, is highly desirable. Cannabis retail management experience is preferred but not required. Experience with Dutchie or similar retail point-of-sale and inventory management systems is a plus. The ideal candidate is a confident, proactive retail leader who excels at communicating expectations, developing employees, resolving performance issues, and creating a positive, accountable work environment. You should be comfortable working directly with executive leadership, collaborating with an existing Team Leads, and ensuring that company objectives are consistently communicated and executed at every level of the retail organization. Proficiency with spreadsheets, email, and digital communication platforms, including Google Workspace or similar systems, is important. Flexibility with scheduling will be necessary, as this dispensary operates seven days per week.
