Job Description

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBLITIES: Responsible for the safe and efficient dispensing of methadone medication to patients in compliance with WAC, FDA, DEA, regulations, and clinic policies and procedures.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Receives general supervision from the Medical Services Supervisor. This is a nonsupervisory position

SCHEDULE: Three Days per week with rotating Saturdays

EXAMPLES OF WORK:

  1. Accurately and efficiently dispenses daily doses of methadone/methadose medication.
  2. Maintain current inventory of medications and medical supplies in secure environment.
  3. Assessment and documentation, in patient’s electronic record, of patient’s physical condition; reporting observations to supervisor.
  4. Alert treatment staff of any observed changes in patient’s status.
  5. Maintain accurate dispensing records.
  6. Daily review of medical order book and recording of changes. Maintain current statistical records.
  7. Accounts for all medication used during a dispensary shift. Ensures accuracy of records to avoid medication discrepancies and take corrective action as needed.
  8. Completes medical intakes for new patients and explains the proper use of dispensed medication and its effects to clients.
  9. Follows all THS policies and procedures.
  10. Performs TB tests on staff and patients, as needed.
  11. Performs King County Jail dosing, as assigned.
  12. Inventories medical supplies, as needed.
  13. Attend all scheduled trainings.
  14. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  1. A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Washington.
  2. A degree or studies in social science or medical field; plus three years’ experience.

We specialize in treating high-risk, low-income, ethnic minority, multi-system involved, and “harder to serve” adults and youth.
