Dispatcher (part-time)

REPORTS TO:

Johnsburg School District - Director of Operations

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Student Educational Days

• 2:00-5:00PM Daily (Monday - Friday)
• 174 Days
• Starting: $15.62/hour

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma/equivalent
• Computer/technology and business machines experience
• Secretarial skills
• Respect confidentiality
• Must be able to use tact and diplomacy in human relations

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures
• Maintains thorough working knowledge of all laws, procedures and regulations governing school bus drivers and student transportation
• Completes tasks or responsibilities as directed by the Director
• Answers telephones, responds to inquiries and directs and/or transfers the caller to the appropriate person, takes and relays messages accurately and in a respectful manner
• Monitors and communicates effectively through two-way radios and telephones
• Works with parents and school district personnel to implement individual route and schedule changes
• Assists the Director in responding to emergency situations for the purpose of ensuring the safety of students, staff and equipment
• Assists with accurate maintenance of student records as directed by the Building Administrators
• Protects the confidentiality of district and transportation records and information
• Maintains an attractive and organized office environment
• Demonstrates knowledge of office equipment, productivity and database applications used within the district
• Maintains positive relationships and attitude at all times with administrators, staff, students, and community members
• Completes tasks or other responsibilities as directed by the Director or District Administration
• Adheres to the district's expectations with regards to attendance and punctuality
• Attends meetings as scheduled
