The Dispatcher Lead supports daily dispatch, logistics coordination, customer service, inventory control, and administrative operations for a busy facility. The position is responsible for processing customer orders, coordinating deliveries and shipments, maintaining transportation and regulatory documentation, and supporting inventory activities. The role also provides receptionist support and serves as a key point of contact for customers, vendors, drivers, and internal teams.
A Sample of What You’ll Do in This Role:
Process customer, sales, and branch order requests; prepare orders for pickup or delivery; and ensure accurate, timely billing and order entry
Coordinate shipments, product transfers, and delivery schedules with trucking companies, drivers, branch locations, and internal teams to meet customer needs
Operate truck scales and prepare shipping documentation, including weight tags, bills of lading, and hazardous materials shipping papers
Manage inventory activities, including inventory tracking, control, physical counts, and product quantity calculations using weight and volumetric measurements
Respond to customer inquiries by phone and computer while communicating instructions and directions to customers, vendors, employees, drivers, and the public
Perform receptionist and administrative duties, operate standard office equipment, and provide backup support to dispatch and reception teams as needed
Maintain driver and DOT equipment records, assist with opening and closing the facility, work extended seasonal hours as needed, and perform other duties assigned by management
What You Bring to This Role:
Experience in dispatching, logistics coordination, trucking operations, customer service, inventory management, or a related field
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written procedures and reports and respond effectively to inquiries from customers, employees, suppliers, and regulatory agencies
Knowledge of DOT regulations, trucking operations, driver and equipment record management, and order prioritization processes
Class A CDL preferred or the ability to obtain one
Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, data entry systems, and transportation or shipping documentation systems
Strong mathematical, analytical, problem-solving, communication, customer service, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Your Digital & Technology Capabilities:
Proficiency using Microsoft Office, transportation management, inventory tracking, and order entry systems to maintain accurate records and support daily operations
Ability to leverage digital tools, data analysis, and reporting to monitor inventory, shipment status, operational performance, and support data-driven decision-making
Comfort adopting new technologies, including Microsoft Copilot, AI-powered productivity tools, digital collaboration platforms, and workflow automation solutions to improve efficiency and service

Compensation and Benefits:
The base compensation for this position ranges from $26.01 to $34.67 per hour. Please note that wages may vary depending on skills and experience.
