Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate, schedule, and assign Kim-Tam drivers and third-party carriers based on customer requirements.
  • Build loads, plan runs, and schedule deliveries or pick-ups, ensuring all safety compliance requirements are met (i.e. Hours of Service)
  • Create freight bills and assign them to the appropriate trucks.
  • Send load information to drivers using the ISAAC ELD system and follow up to ensure loads are executed according to customer standards.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with drivers and customers, addressing any concerns promptly.
  • Collaborate with the US Safety Department to report incidents or accidents in a timely manner.
  • Advise, coordinate, and arrange necessary permits in partnership with the Compliance team.
  • Accurately enter all load details, notes, and critical information into load sheets and orders to ensure seamless billing and reporting processes.
  • Provide support to other Fleet Coordinators as needed and assist team members with related activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1–2+ years of dispatch experience in a trucking or transportation environment.
  • Flatbed dispatching experience is a strong asset.
  • Steel freight experience is a strong asset.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing deadlines.
  • Experience with Truckmate software is a strong asset.
  • Experience with ISAAC ELD systems a strong asset.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with mainframe systems and transportation management systems is an asset.
