Pay Range $17 to $18

As a Dishwasher with Levy at UW - Madison, you’ll play a crucial role in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment. Your attention to detail ensures that all dishes, cookware, and kitchen areas are spotless, following the highest standards of sanitation and safety. If you’re a team player who enjoys working in a fast-paced, essential role, we want you to join our kitchen team! Anticipated start date in May.
Key Responsibilities: Dish Cleaning: Scrape, rinse, and wash dishes, pots, pans, and trays by hand or using the dishwashing machine, ensuring they are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized. Kitchen Cleanliness Wash worktables, walls, refrigerators, meat blocks, and other food prep surfaces to maintain a sanitary environment. Trash Removal Remove trash and waste, placing it in designated containers. Clean and steam garbage cans to maintain a hygienic kitchen space. Safety & Sanitation: Follow safety and sanitation procedures at all times, ensuring that kitchen areas and equipment comply with cleanliness standards. Floor Maintenance: Sweep and mop kitchen floors, ensuring that they are kept clean and safe for all kitchen staff. Equipment Care: Maintain the dishwashing area, ensuring all equipment is functioning properly, and report any issues to the supervisor. Stocking & Transporting: Assist with the transfer of supplies and equipment between storage and work areas, helping with the unloading and loading of supplies. Team Collaboration: Work closely with supervisors and team members to ensure the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently, always adhering to company sanitation and safety standards. Additional Duties Assist with any other tasks as assigned to ensure the overall cleanliness and efficiency of the kitchen.
Qualifications: Experience Restaurant experience is preferred but not required. Physical Stamina: Ability to be on your feet for long hours and move 20-40 lbs of kitchen supplies. Positive Attitude: A strong willingness to contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment. Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively with others and communicate with supervisors to maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety. Physical Requirements: Must be comfortable using slip-resistant shoes and practicing proper lifting techniques to ensure safety.
