Make a difference in the health of Louisiana communities by joining the Office of Public Health as a Tuberculosis (TB) Disease Intervention Specialist. In this rewarding role, you'll investigate and monitor TB cases, provide critical case management, educate and support clients throughout treatment, and help prevent the spread of infectious disease. This position performs TB surveillance of cases, contacts, and routine reactors in order to treat, prevent, and ultimately eradicate TB in Louisiana. A DIS is responsible for ensuring proper case management of their clients as well as ensuring that those clients adhere to medication regimens throughout their course of treatment.

Five years of experience in disease investigation and prevention activities; OR
Three years of experience in investigatory work, social services, nursing, or as a medical laboratory technician or assistant plus two years of experience in disease investigation and prevention activities; OR
A bachelor's degree plus two years of experience in disease investigation and prevention activities; OR
An advanced degree in epidemiology, public health, in a biological science, or nursing plus one year of experience in disease investigation and prevention activities.
