Please note: The salary range above represents this position’s earning potential. The anticipated hiring range for this position will be $101,474 to $164,367, based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is responsible for delivery of the County’s public health and human services that meets the needs of our community’s most vulnerable children, adults and seniors. The Department provides services through more than 120 programs at more than 20 locations. With over 2,000 employees, the Department of Health and Human Services is the largest County Department.

The Disease Control Program provides investigation and related activities for reportable diseases. This is a Code of Maryland Regulation (COMAR) mandated program. We are seeking an individual with experience in working with communicable disease control and prevention and supervision of an interdisciplinary team. As a manager/supervisor of unionized employees, this position has a responsibility for fostering a positive labor relations environment based on mutual trust, respect, and cooperation.
Experience: Five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience overseeing a disease control and prevention program, including supervision of staff and management of contracts and grants.
Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s Degree.
Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted. Note: Based upon legislative requirements, some positions may be subject to different minimum qualifications.
License: Possession of a valid Class "C" (or equivalent) driver’s license from the applicant's state of residence when required for job-related duties
