Job Description

Wood are seeking an experienced CAD Manager to take overall responsibility for our CAD discipline, including people leadership, technology development, commercial performance, technical compliance, and continuous improvement. This role is central to ensuring high quality, efficient, and competitive CAD services delivered across engineering and asset lifecycle projects.

Technical Services (TS) is undergoing a significant transformation to strengthen execution, scalability, and long‑term competitiveness. As part of this journey, Digital Services (DS) and Low Carbon Solutions (LCS) are being further developed as a strategic growth area, and we are now recruiting six key roles to support this ambition. One overall, 4 dedicated to DS and one dedicated to LCS.

Digital Services focuses on asset information, smart digitalization, and turning data into measurable value. We are consolidating capabilities and people across these areas to build a stronger, more coherent service portfolio with clear ownership and accountability. This includes services spanning data management and data operations, application utilization, system integration, and efficient LCI services, as well as high‑fidelity 3D visualization, digital twins, and advanced scanning technologies. Together, these capabilities enable us to better connect the physical and digital worlds and deliver differentiated value to our customers.

  • Overall responsibility for the CAD discipline, including strategy, scope, and service development.
  • Drive development of methods, tools, quality assurance processes, and best practices within CAD, incl tech utilization and development
  • Drive business development and the further commercialization of services, incl sales, tendering, contracts, pricing, and bid activities related to CAD services
  • Lead and develop the CAD team, including recruitment, resource planning, competence development, and performance management
  • P&L responsibility, including budgets, forecasting, cost control, and profitability
  • Ensure technical compliance with applicable standards, client requirements, and internal guidelines
  • Accountable for delivery quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement across projects, incl project management
  • Act as a key interface toward engineering disciplines, project management, IT/digital teams, customers, partners, and internal stakeholders

We are looking for a candidate who want to be part of this transformation and who are motivated to help secure strong and attractive strategic positions for Wood going forward.

  • Relevant higher education within engineering, design, or a related technical discipline. Relevant experience can compensate for lack of formal education
  • Solid experience within CAD delivery and coordination in engineering‑intensive projects
  • Proven experience with CAD standards, quality systems, and compliance frameworks
  • Leadership experience, preferably with discipline or line management responsibility
  • Commercial understanding with experience or strong capability within cost control and P&L ownership
  • Strong understanding of multidisciplinary engineering workflows
  • Good communication skills in English and Norwegian
  • Experience in business development is considered an advantage

We seek candidates with a strong commitment to contribute to our customers’ success and, through this, strengthen Wood’s position and reputation. The right candidates are positive, curious, structured, accountable, and are motivated by contributing across functions to develop the broader team and organization. Flexibility and internal mobility are essential, as is the ability to build strong and trusted relationships, both internally and externally.

Technical Services works closely with large parts of Wood’s global organization, providing unique opportunities to leverage extensive technical and industrial expertise.

We offer

  • An opportunity to be part of building something new—from the ground up—in close alignment with our mandate and ambitions
  • The opportunity to be part of a company that values innovation, quality, and sustainability
  • Attractive compensation and benefits, combined with an inclusive and supportive workplace culture
  • Work from whichever of our offices suits you best, either Porsgrunn, Sandefjord, Oslo, Bergen, or Stavanger

Technical Services in Wood is in a strong phase of growth and development, characterized by a clear “can‑do” mindset. We place great emphasis on collaboration and mutual support, particularly as we explore new services and value chains and, in many cases, position ourselves as a challenger in the market. The Nordics are our core region.
