We are now seeking an experienced and commercially minded Property & Buildings Digital Lead to drive digital transformation across our Property & Buildings business in Africa.

A Little More About Your Role

As the Property & Buildings Digital Lead, you will provide strategic leadership for digital innovation, technology adoption, and digital service delivery across the Property & Buildings business line. You will be responsible for shaping and implementing the digital strategy, developing client-facing digital solutions, and enabling sustainable growth through technology, data, analytics, BIM, digital twins, automation, and location intelligence.

You will work closely with business leaders, technical specialists, WSP Global Digital teams, OneIT, Marketing & Communications, and our clients to identify opportunities, deliver measurable value, and position WSP as a market leader in digital services across the built environment.

This role requires an individual who combines strategic thinking, technical credibility, commercial acumen, and the ability to influence stakeholders across a complex, multidisciplinary organisation.

Your Impact

You will:

  • Lead Digital Strategy and Governance
  • Champion and implement the Property & Buildings digital strategy across Africa.
  • Develop and maintain annual Digital Business Line Plans aligned with regional and global priorities.
  • Drive governance, prioritisation, and performance management of digital initiatives.
  • Identify and manage digital, commercial, delivery, technology, and data governance risks.
  • Drive Client-Facing Digital Growth
  • Build trusted advisor relationships with key clients, asset owners, investors, and operators.
  • Lead digital discovery sessions, workshops, and value proposition development.
  • Support business development activities and major pursuits by bringing innovative digital solutions to clients.
  • Develop repeatable digital offerings, methodologies, proposal content, and demonstration environments.
  • Enable Digital Delivery Excellence
  • Improve consistency and quality of digital project delivery across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Promote adoption of BIM, digital twins, GIS, location intelligence, automation, and advanced data solutions.
  • Support implementation and scaling of successful digital tools, technologies, and delivery methodologies.
  • Manage Digital Platforms, Data and Technology
  • Develop and oversee strategies for digital platforms and technology investments.
  • Promote effective utilisation of Autodesk, Bentley, GIS, data analytics, visualisation, and related technologies.
  • Collaborate on AI, data governance, integration, and digital platform roadmaps.
  • Support commercial models, service packaging, pricing, and value measurement for digital services.
  • Develop Capability and Build Communities
  • Establish a strong Digital Community of Practice across Property & Buildings Africa.
  • Mentor digital champions and future leaders across sectors and disciplines.
  • Lead capability development programmes focused on digital literacy, BIM, GIS, automation, data analytics, visualisation, and digital twins.
  • Support recruitment and workforce planning aligned with business growth priorities.

We'd Love to Hear from You If You Have

  • Essential Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Digital Technology, Engineering, Built Environment, Design, Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience delivering complex projects within client-facing environments.
  • Demonstrated experience within the Property & Buildings sector.
  • Strong background in digital strategy, digital transformation, digital advisory, technology-enabled consulting, or digital project delivery.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and strategic problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial awareness and business development capability.
  • Preferred Requirements
  • Postgraduate qualification or advanced degree in a relevant field.

Professional experience and/or certifications in one or more of the following:

  • BIM
  • Digital Twins
  • GIS / Location Intelligence
  • Data Analytics
  • Automation
  • Agile Delivery
  • Product Management
  • Digital Transformation
  • Experience developing digital products, platforms, or scalable advisory solutions.
  • Experience in CRM-based pipeline management, client engagement planning, and proposal development.
