Your role

As an Estara Support Worker, you will work with our clients in their homes and local communities, supporting them to achieve their goals, maximise their independence and enhance their quality of life.

We are currently seeking Casual Support Workers in Port Pirie, Kadina, Wallaroo, Moonta, Port Broughton, Port Lincoln, Berri, Renmark and surrounding areas.

In this role, you will support people living with disability to build capacity, develop skills and participate in daily life. Responsibilities may include:

  • Personal care and complex care
  • Household tasks and domestic support
  • Social, recreational and community participation
  • Transport assistance
  • Other individualised supports tailored to client needs

Your capabilities

Essential

  • Committed to delivering person-centred and diverse support to those living with all disabilities in their home environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the proven ability to communicate compassionately with a diverse range of people
  • Ability to work autonomously and respond with empathy in stressful situations
  • Problem-solving and time management skills
  • Willingness to perform shift work, including sleepovers, weekends, and public holidays as part of a 24/7 roster

Desirable

  • Qualifications in Individual Support or another relevant discipline(s)
  • Demonstrated experience working with people living with disabilities, including manual handling and personal care tasks
  • Knowledge of NDIS restrictive practices legislation and Positive Behaviour Support principles

Special conditions

  • Full working rights in Australia
  • Current South Australian drivers’ licence and a reliable vehicle
  • DHS Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Provide First Aid certification (HLTAID011)
  • Manual Handling Practical Certificate – Face to Face
  • Assist Clients with Medication HLTHPS006 Certificate
