Job Description

Join Our Team of Disability Support Workers in Burpengary QLD!

We’re looking for caring, dependable people who want to make a genuine difference.

In this role, you’ll support our client with Schizoaffective Disorder (hallucinations, paranoid ideations, significant social withdrawal, suicidal behaviours, deliberate self-harm, substance misuse) with daily tasks, community activities, and personal goals.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Deliver person-centred support aligned with each participant’s NDIS goals
  • Assist with personal care, meal preparation, medication prompts, and household tasks
  • Implement Behaviour Support Plans and follow all NDIS practice standards
  • Provide calm, consistent support during periods of elevated energy or distress
  • Support community participation, transport, appointments, and skill-building activities
  • Maintain accurate progress notes, incident reports, and shift documentation
  • Encourage independence, emotional regulation, and goal achievement

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Mental Health, or Community Services
  • Demonstrated experience supporting clients with Schizoaffective Disorder (manic type)
  • First Aid & CPR certificate (current)
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Working With Children Check
  • Strong communication skills, professionalism, and ability to remain calm under pressure
  • Valid Australian driver’s licence and reliable vehicle
  • Flexibility: Availability to work all shifts, including mornings, afternoons, and sleepovers
