At YM, we empower Australians with disability, aged 9 to 65 to live fulfilling lives through person-centred Supported Independent Living, in-home and community support. Our team values making a meaningful difference in the lives of the people and families we support.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Disability Support Worker to provide safe, consistent care for a participant with complex mental health & behavioural support needs. This role requires someone who is calm, confident, and able to provide structure, emotional regulation support, and proactive care.

You will:

  • Provide safe, person-centred support that promotes independence, emotional stability, and daily living skills, including personal care and meal preparation.
  • Collaborate with management and the wider team to deliver positive participant outcomes.
  • Provide behaviour support that promotes stability, safety, and independence at home and in the community.
  • Confidently support participants with high-intensity behaviours and physical support needs.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and incident reporting.
  • Show empathy, patience and a commitment to participant wellbeing.

Ideal but not mandatory:

  • Certificate in mental health or equivalent
  • Maybo Training – Positive Behaviour Support or similar

Roster

  • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 8am - 4pm

What You'll Need

  • NDIS Worker Screening (Yellow Card)
  • Working with Children Check
  • NDIS Orientation Module Certificate
  • First Aid and CPR Certificate
  • Australian Driver’s Licence
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in complex disability care
  • Experience with Psychosocial Disability
