Job Description

About the Role

As a Disability Support Worker, you will be providing person-centred active support to people living with disability. Supported Independent Living (SIL) is supporting people with disability in shared housing or in their own home, providing various supports including personal care and daily living assistance.

We are currently looking to fill 1 permanent part time position. You must be available for all shifts listed below:

Week 1

Monday 6am to 9:30am

Thursday 6am to 9am

Friday 6am to 9am

Saturday 2pm to 8pm
Sunday 11:30pm to 9:30am (active)

Week 2

Opportunity to pick up additional shifts, no set shifts

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day to day High Intensity Daily Personal Activities (HIDPA) for residents
  • Work within a medical unit, providing medication assistance, personal care, complex bowel support
  • Track and document the changing needs of clients through thorough record-keeping
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, their families, and your team
  • Advocate for client choice and control in a way that is safe and compliant

Skills & Experience

  • An unrestricted New South Wales driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle is required
  • Demonstrated ability to use basic technology and software on a mobile and desktop
  • A current First Aid Certificate, which includes the course HLTAID003 or HLTAID011

Successful candidates will be required to clear all state-based probity checks; including but not limited to a National Criminal History Record Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.
