Disability Support Workers

Disability Connect Victoria is seeking 2 reliable and experienced Disability Support Workers to join our team in Newborough.

We are looking for workers who are confident providing personal care and manual handling support, including the use of a gantry hoist. This role is suited to people who can provide respectful, person-centred support while promoting choice, dignity and independence.

Available Shifts

The roster consists of approximately two 2.5-hour shifts each day:

  • Morning shifts
  • Evening shifts
  • Approximately 5 hours of support available per day
  • Ongoing shifts across the week
  • Immediate start available

Availability across mornings and evenings will be highly regarded.

About the Role

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing personal care and daily living support
  • Manual handling and transfers
  • Using a gantry hoist safely
  • Supporting the participant in line with their individual support plan
  • Promoting independence, choice and dignity
  • Completing accurate progress notes and documentation
  • Communicating effectively with the participant, their family and support team

About You

We are looking for applicants who have:

  • Experience providing personal care
  • Experience with manual handling and transfers
  • Experience using a gantry hoist or similar equipment
  • Strong communication skills
  • A reliable and consistent approach to shifts
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A respectful and person-centred approach to disability support

Mandatory Requirements

  • Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability or a related qualification
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • Current First Aid and CPR
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module
  • Evidence of Australian working rights

If you are the recipient of NDIS, TAC or WorkSafe funding - we can help get you the support you need. Our experienced support coordinators are well versed in local services to interlink with, ensuring you receive the right care, at the right time and in the right environment.

In the near future, DCV will be offering overnight Respite services as well as facility based independent living skills programs. These programs will launch alongside our latest social and community access programs later this year.
