Job Description

Disability Support Worker – Building Independent Living Skills
Location: Werribee
Hours: Mondays 2:00pm–4:00pm to start, with opportunity for evening, weekend & overnight shifts as rapport grows
Start: ASAP
We are seeking a mature, reliable and nurturing female Support Worker to assist two young clients as they build confidence and independent living skills.
The initial shift will overlap with an Occupational Therapy session allowing you to work alongside an experienced clinician while gradually building trust and familiarity with the family.
About the Role
You will be supporting two young clients who:
- Are verbal but experience social anxiety
- Benefit from gentle encouragement, predictable routines and a calm presence
- Require a worker who can follow OT guidance and work collaboratively with the family
- As rapport and trust develop, there is strong potential for regular ongoing increased shifts
About You
We are looking for a support worker who is:
- Mature, patient and grounded
- Calm, steady and able to build rapport gradually
- Comfortable supporting young people with social anxiety
- Confident working alongside parents and allied health professionals
- Reliable, consistent and respectful within a family home environment
- This role would suit someone with life experience, a nurturing approach, and a genuine passion for helping young people grow in independence.
