Capital Paving and Construction is seeking an experienced Dirt/Grading Foreman in the Central Missouri area. Experience in the heavy highway construction industry is preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and supervise concrete crews to safely and efficiently execute projects (flatwork, paving, structural pours, etc.).
- Plan daily work activities, including crew assignments, equipment needs, and material coordination.
- Ensure all work meets project specifications, quality standards, and production targets.
- Interpret plans, drawings, and specifications to guide field execution.
- Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and other trades to maintain schedule and workflow.
- Conduct daily jobsite walks, inspections, and progress tracking.
- Enforce safety protocols, lead safety meetings, and maintain compliance with OSHA and company standards.
- Monitor productivity, identify inefficiencies, and implement improvements to meet deadlines and budgets.
- Track daily production, complete reports, and maintain accurate job documentation (logs, quantities, issues).
- Manage materials and equipment to ensure availability and minimize downtime.
- Train, mentor, and develop crew members to improve skill levels and leadership pipeline.
- Resolve field issues proactively, including constructability challenges, conflicts, and delays.

REQUIREMENTS
- 5+ years of experience in concrete construction, paving, or heavy civil work, with leadership responsibility.
- Proven experience as a Foreman, Superintendent, or similar field leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of concrete processes, placement methods, finishing, and curing practices.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and project schedules.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage crews, subcontractors, and jobsite activities.
- Solid understanding of safety regulations, hazard recognition, and incident prevention.
- Experience with production tracking, job costing awareness, and schedule coordination.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced field environment.
- Ability to operate or oversee heavy equipment (preferred).
- Valid driver’s license; DOT or CDL preferred (as applicable).
