- - - The Director of Grants & Government serves as a member of the executive leadership team and provides strategic leadership for all public funding and grants management. This position supports government relations and legislative advocacy efforts. This position develops and executes strategies that maximize local, state, federal, and foundation funding opportunities. The Director of Grants & Foundations ensures compliance with all grant requirements and secures sustainable funding to support the organization's mission and long-term strategic goals.

- - - Strategic Leadership

- - - - Develop and implement a comprehensive public funding and grants strategy aligned with the organization's strategic plan.
- - - - Serve as a member of the executive leadership team, contributing to organizational planning and decision-making.
- - - - Identify emerging funding opportunities, legislative initiatives, and public policy trends that impact youth development.
- - - - Represent the organization with community leaders, elected officials, and partner organizations.

- - - - Lead the identification, development, writing, submission, and stewardship of local, state, federal, and foundation grant proposals.
- - - - Oversee the full grant lifecycle, including budgets, contracts, reporting, compliance, monitoring, and closeout.
- - - - Collaborate with finance and program staff to ensure accurate financial reporting and grant compliance.
- - - - Maintain a diversified portfolio of public and private grant funding.

- - - - Engage in productive relationships with local, state, and federal elected officials and government agencies.
- - - - Monitor legislation, appropriations, and policy initiatives affecting youth development and nonprofit organizations.

- - - - Participates in testimony, briefing materials, legislative updates, and funding requests.

- - - - Partner with program leadership to develop innovative initiatives responsive to community needs and funding priorities.
- - - - Ensure proposed programs are evidence-informed, measurable, and aligned with funder expectations.

- - - - Advanced project management skills with the ability to oversee multiple complex grant proposals, reporting requirements, and cross-functional initiatives while consistently meeting deadlines.
- - - - Strong financial and analytical acumen, including experience developing multi-year grant budgets, interpreting financial reports, monitoring expenditures, and ensuring compliance with funding requirements.
- - - - Outstanding relationship-building and communication skills with the ability to cultivate trust and collaborate effectively with government agencies, elected officials, foundation representatives, community partners, board members, executive leadership, and program staff.
