Director, Strategic Advisory, Hong Kong

Our client is an international strategic advisory firm working with leading investors and corporates on complex commercial decisions. The firm provides senior decision-makers with insight, advice and informed perspectives to help them navigate important business, investment and market-related issues. Its work spans areas including M&A and investment diligence, market entry, regulatory challenges, business development, disputes, senior appointments and competitive positioning, with relationships typically held at CEO, board and senior investor level.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a senior professional to help lead and develop the firm's presence in Hong Kong and the wider Asia region.

This is a highly client-facing position combining strategic advisory work, relationship management, business development and project leadership. The successful individual will work closely with colleagues internationally, advising senior corporate and investment clients on complex commercial questions across Asia.

The role offers considerable scope to shape the firm's activities in the region, develop existing and new client relationships, and identify areas where the firm's capabilities can support clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage relationships with senior corporate, investment and professional-services clients across Hong Kong and the wider region.
• Originate new business through existing relationships, referrals and proactive client development.
• Advise clients on complex commercial, investment, regulatory and strategic questions.
• Lead advisory assignments and translate research, market insight and informed perspectives into commercially relevant advice.
• Work closely with international colleagues to deliver cross-border assignments.
• Identify opportunities to expand the firm's relationships and activities across Asia.

Candidate Profile

We are interested in speaking with senior professionals who combine strong commercial judgement with an established network and a detailed understanding of business in Asia.

Potential backgrounds could include strategic advisory, management consulting, investment advisory, political or regulatory advisory, corporate strategy, professional services or other senior client-facing advisory positions.

Candidates should demonstrate:

• Strong senior-level client relationships and business development capability.
• Experience advising corporates, investors or other sophisticated clients.
• Excellent commercial judgement and an ability to understand complex or sensitive business issues.
• Strong knowledge of Hong Kong, Greater China and/or wider Asian markets.
• The credibility to engage confidently with CEOs, boards, investors and other senior decision-makers.
• An entrepreneurial approach and an interest in helping develop an international advisory business.

The position would particularly suit someone who enjoys combining advisory work with relationship development and is looking for significant autonomy and scope to shape the business locally.
