About the Role

We’re looking for a Director/AVP, Life Pricing Actuary to lead life insurance pricing and product initiatives from concept through launch and Inforce management. You’ll be responsible for delivering clear, decision-ready analytics and ensuring pricing frameworks align with regulatory, capital, and accounting requirements. Working closely with cross-functional partners, you’ll play a key role in shaping profitable, competitive, and sustainable life insurance products.

What You’ll Do

Life Product Pricing & Development

  • Lead life product pricing and development initiatives, including market research, profitability and risk return assessment, pricing recommendations, and documentation
  • Partner across the organization to bring life products from concept through implementation and launch

Pricing Governance & In Force Management

  • Develop and maintain pricing governance frameworks and in force management processes
  • Support ongoing monitoring of product profitability and competitiveness across the product lifecycle

Analytics, Projections & Executive Support

  • Produce timely, insightful analytics and projections to support executive decision making
  • Contribute to performance reporting and assessment of pricing and product outcomes

Models, Tools & Controls

  • Enhance and operationalize pricing models and tools, including efficiency improvements, model controls, assumptions governance, and documentation
  • Ensure pricing tools and processes meet internal control and governance standards

Cross Functional Partnership & Issue Resolution

  • Coordinate with Product, Distribution, Operations, Valuation/Finance, Risk/ALM, Legal/Compliance, and IT to implement pricing initiatives and resolve production issues across platforms
  • Support ad hoc analytical requests for key partners, including Marketing, Operations, Finance, and Corporate Development

External & Regulatory Engagement

  • Participate in regulatory communications as needed
  • Support responses to inquiries related to pricing methodology and product filings

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent education and experience)
  • Minimum of 10 years of actuarial experience and FSA designation
  • Strong knowledge of life insurance regulatory and accounting frameworks, including PBR, GAAP, and LDTI
  • Demonstrated ability to present complex actuarial analyses clearly and effectively to executives and senior stakeholders
  • Proven ability to build collaborative relationships across diverse functional areas
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Experience with enterprise pricing or actuarial modeling platforms (MG-ALFA or comparable tools) preferred
  • Prior experience in life insurance pricing and product development preferred

  • Regulatory, Capital & Accounting Acumen: Strong command of life insurance regulatory and accounting frameworks, including PBR, GAAP, and LDTI, with the ability to embed requirements into pricing frameworks and governance.
  • Executive Analytics & Decision Support: Ability to produce clear, decision ready analytics and projections and effectively communicate complex actuarial results to executive and senior stakeholders.
  • Pricing Governance & In Force Management: Proven capability to design, implement, and maintain pricing governance, assumptions oversight, and in force management processes that support long term product performance.
  • Modeling, Tools & Controls: Experience enhancing and operationalizing pricing models and tools, with strong attention to efficiency, controls, documentation, and assumptions governance.
  • Cross Functional Leadership & Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to partner across Product, Distribution, Finance, Risk/ALM, Legal/Compliance, Operations, and IT to deliver pricing initiatives and resolve complex issues.
  • Strategic Execution & Prioritization: Strong organizational judgment and execution skills to manage multiple initiatives, deadlines, and stakeholder demands in a fast moving environment.
