Director, Workplace Engineering Group Leader.

We are seeking an experienced engineering leader to define and drive the global engineering strategy and execution for BNY’s Workplace Hub. This role will lead the architecture, modernization, and delivery of secure, scalable, and resilient workplace technology platforms that support the in-office experience and the safety, security, and operational effectiveness of our people and facilities.

As part of Corporate Engineering, this leader will oversee the engineering organization responsible for solutions spanning workplace experience, real estate, facilities, visitor management, reservations, and physical security technologies. This is a senior leadership opportunity for a hands-on, technically credible executive with deep expertise in software and platform engineering and a strong track record of modernizing complex enterprise environments.

The role requires close partnership with Product, UX, business stakeholders, operations teams, and peer engineering organizations to deliver user-centered, globally consistent solutions that improve workplace experiences and enable operational excellence. This role will be in New York City, NY.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Strategy and Leadership

• Define the engineering vision, target architecture, and delivery roadmap for Workplace Hub platforms and services.
• Lead multiple engineering teams across application development, platform support, modernization, integrations, and production resilience.
• Establish engineering standards, operating models, and delivery practices that improve speed, quality, security, scalability, and reuse.
• Serve as the senior technology partner to Workplace Experience, Corporate Security, Real Estate, and Facilities stakeholders.
• Promote an AI-first engineering mindset to improve colleague experience, automation, supportability, and operational insight.

Platform, Architecture, Ownership and Delivery

• Own the end-to-end architecture, engineering, delivery, and operational health of Workplace Hub platforms.
• Lead the development and enhancement of digital products that improve workplace services, colleague self-service, office engagement, and on-site experiences.
• Oversee engineering strategy and execution for applications supporting global physical security operations, including access control, video management, monitoring, and related security technologies.
• Support the migration, expansion, and lifecycle management of Genetec-based access control and CCTV solutions.
• Deliver technology capabilities that enable facilities operations, maintenance, asset management, and workplace service delivery.
• Ensure platforms are resilient, user-centered, globally scalable, and aligned with enterprise design, accessibility, risk, compliance, and support standards.

Enterprise Integrations and Data

• Design and maintain APIs and integrations across Workplace Hub platforms and key enterprise systems, including HR, identity, collaboration, IT service management, building systems, and security platforms.
• Drive the development of data products, dashboards, and insight capabilities that improve workplace decision-making and experience measurement.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

Required

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, or enterprise application delivery, including significant experience in senior engineering leadership roles.
• Proven experience leading global engineering teams and large-scale enterprise technology portfolios.
• Strong technical credibility across full-stack application development, APIs, integrations, cloud-native platforms, security, and production engineering.
• Experience modernizing legacy platforms and driving engineering transformation in complex enterprise environments.
• Demonstrated success partnering with senior business stakeholders and translating business strategy into engineering roadmaps and outcomes.
• Experience delivering secure, resilient, and scalable technology solutions in highly controlled environments.
• Strong understanding of DevSecOps, SDLC, architecture governance, platform reliability, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to operate effectively across executive, operational, and technical audiences.

Preferred

• Experience supporting workplace technology, workplace experience, real estate, facilities, visitor management, reservations, and/or physical security platforms.
• Experience with Genetec or comparable physical security platforms, including access control and CCTV ecosystems.
• Familiarity with digital workplace experience platforms such as signage, wayfinding, mobile workplace tools, and room/space technologies.
• Experience applying AI, automation, and data engineering capabilities to improve user experience, workflow efficiency, and operational insights.
• Experience in financial services or other highly regulated enterprise environments.
