The Director, Growth & Analytics leads the growth analytics agenda for BMO InvestorLine and BMO Insurance. This role leverages analytics, client insights, market intelligence, and emerging AI capabilities to identify growth opportunities and shape strategies that drive client acquisition, engagement, retention, and revenue growth. Working closely with business, marketing, digital, technology, and operations partners, the Director translates insights into action, influences strategic decisions, and leads a high-performing team focused on delivering measurable business outcomes.

Key Accountabilities

Growth Strategy & Commercial Performance

  • Own the growth analytics agenda for BMO InvestorLine and BMO Insurance, identifying opportunities to acquire, engage, retain, and grow clients.
  • Develop fact-based growth strategies informed by client insights, business performance, market trends, and competitive dynamics.
  • Identify priority growth opportunities and translate them into strategic recommendations, investment priorities, business cases, and roadmaps.
  • Partner with senior business leaders to influence strategic and commercial decisions through data-driven insights and recommendations.
  • Evaluate emerging opportunities, business models, and growth initiatives to accelerate client, revenue, and market growth.

Client Engagement, Segmentation & Personalization

  • Define client segmentation, targeting, personalization, and engagement strategies that improve client experience and commercial outcomes.
  • Leverage client, behavioural, financial, and digital engagement data to identify opportunities to improve acquisition, conversion, retention, and product penetration.
  • Working in partnership with campaign execution, marketing, and digital teams, establish strategies for client journeys, lead programs, and personalized engagement.
  • Recommend actions that improve targeting, channel effectiveness, audience selection, offer strategy, and client relevance across priority segments.
  • Translate analytics and Client360 insights into actionable growth initiatives and measurable business outcomes.

Performance Measurement & Optimization

  • Establish growth measurement frameworks that connect initiatives to acquisition, engagement, retention, asset growth, revenue, and profitability outcomes.
  • Lead performance reviews, identify growth drivers and performance gaps, and recommend actions to improve results.
  • Apply forecasting, experimentation, scenario analysis, and business case modelling to evaluate opportunities and investments.
  • Foster a disciplined test-and-learn culture that supports continuous improvement and business performance optimization.

Analytics, Insights & AI Enablement

  • Define and execute the roadmap for analytics, insights, and AI capabilities that support business growth objectives.
  • Champion advanced analytics, predictive modelling, AI-enabled decisioning, and insight generation capabilities that improve business performance and client understanding.
  • Prioritize analytics investments based on business value, strategic relevance, feasibility, and organizational readiness.
  • Ensure insights are embedded into strategic planning, decision-making, client engagement strategies, and performance management processes.
  • Advance innovative approaches that improve the speed, scalability, and impact of analytics across the business.

Executive Partnership & Influence

  • Build trusted relationships with senior leaders across Wealth and key enterprise functions.
  • Influence executive decision-making through data-driven storytelling, opportunity assessments, business cases, and recommendations.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives that require alignment across business, data, technology, marketing, digital, and operations teams.
  • Drive clarity, alignment, and accountability across strategic growth priorities.

People Leadership

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of analytics, strategy, and growth professionals.
  • Build capabilities in strategic thinking, analytics, experimentation, storytelling, AI, consulting, and business influence.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, collaboration, continuous improvement, and measurable business impact.
  • Develop future leaders and succession pipelines within the Growth & Analytics function.

Qualifications

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in analytics, strategy, management consulting, wealth management, insurance, digital financial services, marketing, or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated success partnering with senior leaders to shape business strategy, investment decisions, and growth priorities.
  • Proven track record delivering measurable results in client acquisition, engagement, retention, revenue growth, marketing effectiveness, or business performance.
  • Experience leveraging analytics, client insights, and performance measurement to influence business decisions and outcomes.
  • Experience leading high-performing teams and managing complex stakeholder relationships.

Leadership & Strategic Capabilities

  • Strong strategic thinking, commercial acumen, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to translate complex data and insights into clear business recommendations and actions.
  • Exceptional communication, storytelling, presentation, and influencing capabilities.
  • Proven ability to lead through ambiguity and drive outcomes across complex stakeholder environments.
  • Executive presence with the ability to build trust and influence at senior levels.

Technical & Analytical Capabilities

  • Strong knowledge of analytics, performance measurement, experimentation, segmentation, forecasting, and business case development.
  • Experience with modern analytics tools, platforms, and data environments.
  • Understanding of AI, machine learning, predictive analytics, and decision-support capabilities.
  • Knowledge of data governance, privacy, risk management, and regulatory considerations within financial services.

Salary

$110,500.00 - $192,500.00

The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
