Job Description

BeOne continues to grow at a rapid pace with challenging and exciting opportunities for experienced professionals. When considering candidates, we look for scientific and business professionals who are highly motivated, collaborative, and most importantly, share our passionate interest in fighting cancer.

Purpose of the Role:

Shape evidence generation decisions during development to maximize future reimbursement, payer negotiations, HTA success and pricing potential. The Director, Value Demonstration & Access Evidence Strategy is responsible for designing and implementing global payer and HTA evidence strategies that support successful reimbursement, access and pricing outcomes across the portfolio. The role serves as the strategic bridge between Clinical Development, HEOR, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs and Global Value, Access & Pricing (GVAP), ensuring that payer and HTA evidence requirements are incorporated into development programmes as early as possible. The individual will shape integrated evidence plans, anticipate evolving HTA and payer evidence expectations, and ensure that clinical, economic and real-world evidence generation activities support successful Joint Clinical Assessments (JCA), Joint Scientific Consultations (JSC), national HTA submissions, reimbursement negotiations, U.S. payer and value demonstration requirements, and lifecycle management strategies. The role is explicitly accountable for ensuring that U.S. evidence needs are surfaced early, reconciled against ex-U.S. HTA requirements, and reflected as a single, integrated set of requirements in development plans — rather than being raised late or handled separately.

Key Responsibilities

Global Access Evidence Strategy:

  • Design and implement global HTA and payer evidence strategies across the product lifecycle.
  • Work closely with GVAP Asset Leads, Regional Access Leads, country access leads and HEOR to identify the evidence requirements necessary to support Joint Scientific Consultations (JSC), Joint Clinical Assessments (JCA), national HTA assessments, reimbursement submissions and pricing negotiations.
  • Evaluate trade-offs between evidence options and recommend risk mitigation strategies that optimise payer, access, pricing and development objectives.
  • Ensure access evidence requirements are embedded within Integrated Evidence Plans.

Influence on Clinical Development:

  • In close collaboration with GVAP Asset Leads and HEOR, provide expert market access and HTA input into clinical development programmes, registrational study design, comparator strategy, endpoint selection, patient population selection, subgroup evidence generation, PRO strategy and real-world evidence generation.
  • Influence development decisions to proactively address future reimbursement risks rather than reacting to them post-approval.

U.S. Evidence Requirements & Cross-Regional Reconciliation:

  • Serve as the standing point of contact to the U.S. Value & Access, U.S. HEOR and U.S. Medical teams for pipeline evidence planning.
  • Systematically elicit, document and prioritise U.S. payer, PBM, IDN and employer evidence requirements — including comparator expectations, endpoint and subgroup needs, real-world data requirements, AMCP-format dossier inputs and ICER assessment risk — and ensure these are represented in Integrated Evidence Plans alongside EU HTA and other ex-U.S. requirements.
  • Identify and escalate conflicts between U.S. and ex-U.S. evidence requirements (e.g. divergent comparators, populations, or endpoint hierarchies) with a recommended resolution and an articulated trade-off, rather than deferring the decision.
  • Anticipate the access implications of U.S. policy developments, including CMS price negotiation and Medicare/Medicaid coverage dynamics, and translate these into evidence-generation requirements at the point where development decisions are still open.

Value Demonstration & Evidence Generation:

  • Develop and maintain asset-specific payer value demonstration plans.
  • Shape, in tight collaboration with HEOR, evidence generation activities including cost-effectiveness analyses, budget impact models, RWE studies, PRO studies, long-term outcome analyses, indirect treatment comparisons and network meta-analyses.
  • Collaborate closely with HEOR and Medical Affairs teams to ensure evidence packages address stakeholder needs across global healthcare systems.

HTA & Payer Landscape Monitoring:

  • Maintain deep expertise on evolving global HTA methodologies and payer evidence expectations, monitoring changes in the EU HTA Regulation, NICE, HAS, G-BA/IQWiG, AIFA, CADTH, ICER and other major payer and assessment bodies. Such monitoring covers U.S. payer, PBM and value-assessment developments on the same footing as EU and other ex-U.S. bodies, with implications translated into concrete evidence requirements for U.S.-relevant programmes.
  • Translate emerging requirements into actionable evidence-generation strategies.
  • Ensure assets are prepared for both EU-level and local HTA decision-making.

Value Proposition & Payer Communication:

  • Support GVAP Asset Leads to develop compelling payer-focused value propositions.
  • Ensure clinical, economic and patient-centered evidence is translated into core value narratives, HTA dossiers, global value dossiers, pricing toolkits and reimbursement materials.
  • Provide expert input into key messages and evidence-based value stories supporting payer and HTA engagement.

External Engagement & Capability Building:

  • Build and maintain relationships with HTA experts, policy experts and academic researchers.
  • Represent the organisation in scientific and methodological discussions.
  • Contribute to the advancement of access-related methodologies and evidence-generation best practices.
  • Actively contribute to capability building and continuous improvement across GVAP.

Required Qualifications

  • MSc, MPH or equivalent advanced degree in health economics, epidemiology, public health, biostatistics, life sciences or health policy; PhD, PharmD or MD preferred, as is additional business or strategic leadership education.
  • 8 + years of experience in market access, HEOR, value & access or evidence strategy.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting HTA submissions, reimbursement negotiations, evidence planning and global launch preparation.
  • Strong understanding of EU HTA/JCA, RWE methodologies, economic modelling, clinical development and international payer decision-making.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional and cross-regional initiatives and to influence without direct authority in a matrixed, global organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Location & Ways of Working

This role can be based in Switzerland (Basel area). International travel is expected to support cross-functional and regional collaboration. Regular, scheduled engagement with U.S.-based Value & Access, HEOR and Medical colleagues is a core requirement of the role. Whichever base location applies, the incumbent maintains sufficient overlap with both U.S. Eastern and Central European time zones to sustain a functioning two-way evidence-requirements loop.

Travel: 15% of time.

Salary Range Switzerland: 198,200.00 CHF - 247,700.00 CHF
