ABOUT THE ROLE:
As a Design Director on Teague’s UX team, you lead the creation of complex, information-rich software experiences, helping clients navigate ambiguity to define clear, usable products. Working at the intersection of UX, product strategy, and systems thinking, you guide teams through early-stage problem framing, research, and design for enterprise and mission-critical tools. You provide hands-on leadership across projects, facilitating workshops, aligning stakeholders, and elevating team output through strong critique and direction. You also contribute to business growth and mentor designers, maintaining a high bar for craft, collaboration, and impact.
TRAVEL EXPECTATIONS:
Travel expectations vary by project and client needs, typically averaging around 15–20% and including occasional short domestic trips for workshops, research, and key meetings. At times, this may involve multi-day or week-long onsite engagements during critical phases, with flexibility required as travel cadence can shift based on project demands.

You’re also a strong communicator and storyteller, able to frame complex ideas in ways that are compelling, persuasive, and easy to understand. You lead by example—mentoring designers, fostering a culture of curiosity and continuous learning, and helping others grow into stronger practitioners and leaders. You’re comfortable stepping into business development conversations, shaping proposals, and representing the work with credibility and passion. Individual salaries within this range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. As part of our comprehensive benefits package, full-time employees start by accruing 4 weeks of paid time off a year (prorated for part-time hires) and 10 paid holidays throughout the fiscal year. On-Call or Temporary employees accrue 1hr of PTO for every 30hrs worked. Full-time intern benefits start the first month following 60 days of hire and are not eligible to participate in Teague's 401k plan.
We are a Washington State based company. All employees must reside in the state of Washington (unless otherwise noted for specific roles) and be able to access one of our studio locations in the greater Seattle area.
