The Director, U.S. Wholesale is responsible for leading and growing the company's wholesale business across key fashion accounts in the United States. This role develops and executes strategic sales plans to drive revenue, strengthen partnerships with major retail customers, and ensure alignment with the brand's overall business objectives.

The Director collaborates cross-functionally with merchandising, planning, marketing, operations, and finance to deliver seasonal strategies, optimize account performance, and identify new business opportunities.

This position requires a strong understanding of the fashion wholesale landscape, exceptional relationship management skills, and the ability to analyze market trends and customer performance to achieve sustainable, profitable growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute wholesale sales strategies to achieve revenue and profitability goals
  • Manage and grow relationships with key national and regional fashion retail accounts
  • Leads sales meetings with key wholesale partners to strengthen strategic relationships, align on business objectives, review performance, identify growth opportunities, and negotiate initiatives that drive mutual success
  • Analyze sales performance, market trends, and competitive activity to identify opportunities and mitigate risks
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure successful product launches, inventory management, and customer satisfaction
  • Negotiate business terms, pricing, and promotional opportunities that support both customer and company objectives
  • Forecast sales, manage budgets, and provide accurate reporting to senior leadership
  • Mentor and develop wholesale sales team members while fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent negotiation, influencing, and conflict resolution skills with the ability to achieve mutually beneficial business outcomes
  • Strong financial and analytical acumen, including experience with sales forecasting, budgeting, margin management, and performance analysis
  • Ability to interpret market trends, consumer insights, and competitive activity to identify opportunities and inform business decisions
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively influence internal and external stakeholders
  • Highly organized with strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, and experience with retail reporting, ERP, CRM, and business intelligence tools
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically as needed to support customer meetings, market appointments, and internal business events
  • Strong business judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a customer-focused and results-oriented mindset
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, adaptability, and accountability with a commitment to fostering positive business relationships and achieving organizational goals

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field
  • Extensive knowledge of the U.S. fashion wholesale marketplace, including department stores, specialty retailers, and emerging distribution channels
  • Strong understanding of wholesale sales processes, seasonal market cycles, merchandising, assortment planning, and inventory management
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans that drive revenue growth and profitability
  • Demonstrated success managing and growing relationships with key wholesale accounts and executive-level customer contacts
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a high-performing wholesale sales team by fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement while providing ongoing performance feedback, supporting professional development, and ensuring alignment with business objectives and company values
  • Ability to build collaborative partnerships across merchandising, planning, marketing, operations, finance, and product development functions
  • Up to 30% travel for customer engagements
  • Ability to adhere to regular in-office workdays
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

Benefits

The salary range for this position is $130,000 – $200,000, depending on the candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications. Total compensation may also include a discretionary company performance bonus and a comprehensive benefits package featuring medical, dental, retirement, wellness, and voluntary benefit options, as well as employee product discounts.
