*This position is part of the administrative team of the UAMS Library and requires working in a team environment within the Library as well as throughout the campus. It is a full-time, twelve-month, non-tenure track faculty position that reports to the Director of the Library.*
The Director of the Historical Research Center in the University of Arkansas for Medical
Sciences (UAMS) Library is responsible for the overall operation, administration, and advancement of the Historical Research Center (HRC) as a department of one. The position requires a high degree of independent judgment and decision-making in archival management, research services, outreach, donor relations, and professional engagement. The successful candidate will manage competing demands, allocate available resources, and determine appropriate responses to operational and collection-related issues.
ALA-accredited Master’s degree in Library/Information Science or Archival Studies plus seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in archives and/or special collections required.
