Job Description

Job Location: Salem - SALEM, VA 24153General Role Description
Lead the strategic direction and hands-on execution of the Company’s learning and development initiatives. Plan, design, deliver, and evaluate all training programs. Ensure training is practical, engaging, and aligned with daily operations while supporting internal advancement, performance improvement, retention, and long-term workforce development.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop, in coordination with company leadership, and maintain the Company’s strategic learning and development plan while personally executing training initiatives from concept through delivery.
- Design, develop, facilitate, and present training programs for sales, operational, and leadership audiences using adult learning principles.
- Partner closely with managers and staff to identify training needs and translate functional challenges into effective learning solutions.
- Create hands-on training materials, job aids, presentations, facilitator guides, and learner resources tailored for day-to-day operational use.
- Facilitate classroom, virtual, and on-the-job training sessions, including onboarding, safety training, internal certifications, and skills development programs.
- Oversee and administer the Company’s Learning Management System (LMS), including course creation, enrollment, tracking, reporting, and ongoing system maintenance.
- Manage the identification, selection, and coordination of external training partners to address specialized training needs not supported by internal resources or expertise.
- Ensure training programs support regulatory, safety, and compliance requirements while reinforcing consistent work practices and quality standards.
- Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, observations, and feedback, and adjust programs to improve skill proficiency and on-the-job performance.
- Manage training-related budgets, vendors, and external training resources as needed to supplement internal capabilities.
- Serve as the primary internal subject matter resource for training and development, providing guidance and support to supervisors and leaders.
- Support onboarding, internal certification programs, cross-training efforts, and leadership development initiatives across operational teams.
- Assist with developing internal talent pipelines by creating training programs that prepare frontline employees for expanded responsibilities, supervisory roles, and future leadership positions.
- Stay current on beverage and learning industry trends, instructional tools, and best practices to continuously improve training delivery and learner engagement.
- Perform other related duties as assigned in support of operational and organizational objectives.

QualificationsMinimum

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Training and Development, Education, Organizational Development, Human Resources, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience designing, delivering, and managing training programs in a frontline or operations-driven environment.
- Demonstrated experience facilitating in-person and virtual training sessions.
- Experience administering learning management systems and developing course content.
- Strong working knowledge of adult learning theory, instructional design methodologies, and training evaluation practices. Experience in using instructional design tools and software required.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and execute both strategic planning and hands-on training delivery.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills across all levels of the organization.
- Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated continuous improvement in areas of responsibility.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Availability to travel to other Company locations, 25% or more.
Preferred

Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a related field.
- Experience in distribution and warehousing, logistics, field sales, or beverage.
- Experience supporting safety, compliance, or certification-based training programs.
- Experience utilizing Artificial Intelligence tools.
- Professional certifications in training, instructional design, or learning and development (e.g., CPTD, CPLP).
