As a Director - Trade Momentum Advisor at Standard Chartered in Dhaka, you will play a pivotal role in proactively engaging with existing corporate clients to expand relationships and increase wallet share within Trade Finance products. You will champion client calling and on-selling initiatives to preserve and grow utilisation of Trade Finance credit lines, including Documentary Trade and Open Account facilities. This position requires a strategic mindset to collaborate with sales and product teams in defining corporate focus lists and to identify growth opportunities among both existing and prospective clients, particularly around export Letter of Credit confirmation and discounting.
You will develop adaptive client engagement plans, meticulously track outreach efforts, and translate client insights into actionable leads for upselling and cross-selling. Building strong partnerships with internal stakeholders—ranging from Product Management to Compliance—and adhering to AML, KYC, and regulatory standards are essential components of this individual contributor role.
Strategic Impact: Continually monitor client needs, market trends, and product intelligence to inform new product development while strengthening the bank's competitive edge. Your deep understanding of clients' businesses will enable you to anticipate requirements and deliver tailored Trade Finance solutions that drive commercial success.
Candidates should bring a robust knowledge of Trade Finance products and demonstrate expertise in driving marketing strategy and positioning to effectively serve business markets. Proven skills in strategic and tactical planning will be key to successfully navigating evolving client expectations and market conditions. Experience or knowledge of disruptive innovation in banking and finance sectors will be advantageous in identifying new business opportunities.
An ability to analyse business performance and adjust strategies accordingly is essential. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, suitable for building relationships across diverse stakeholders, both internal and external, are paramount.
