
As Director of Transpacific Trade Management, you will assume a key position within our organization, taking responsibility for one of our most important trade routes. In this challenging leadership role, you will in partnership with the trade team in Hamburg, combine commercial strategy, daily tactical execution with operational excellence and long-term vision for our position in this dynamic market. You will drive development of innovative solutions for complex market challenges. You will work in an international environment with experienced colleagues and have the responsibility and opportunity to influence trade and company success. Your decisions will not only shape the performance of your area of responsibility but also significantly contribute to the competitiveness and success of our entire Pacific strategy.
Lead and develop a pricing and steering team.
Close collaboration with Cargo control to ensure uptake management is proactive and effective to ensure 100 % utilization and at the same time see that we generate the highest possible yield.
Feed market intelligence and pricing back to the short-term pricing team to optimize uptake and yield generation.
Manage the ON/OL trade legs in close cooperation with the Oceania area as well as the OCE trade desk in Hamburg.
Communicating trade strategy across all relevant organizational layers.
Co-design ship systems to improve quality, reduce costs, and differentiate from competition.
Responsibility for volume and rate budgeting plus continuous monitoring and deviation analysis.
Special assignments and participating in overarching projects and studies.
Strong shipping background with experience in similar trade or commercial leadership roles.
Proven ability to motivate and lead teams with a direct and inspiring management style.
Strong capability to build relationships across organizational layers and functions.
Self-driven approach with high initiative, engagement, and continuous drive to win in the marketplace.
Excellent presentation and negotiation skills with an assertive yet pragmatic approach.
Strong affinity for numbers combined with systematic, goal-oriented work principles.
Excellent knowledge of IT systems including QV/QS, FIS, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Proficient English at business level.
