Regional Footprint and Growth:
Sephora SEAO operates an omni-channel business across eight markets: Australia, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand.

  • Retail scale: More than 100 stores across the region, including global flagship locations such as ION Orchard and Raffles City in Singapore, F88 in Kuala Lumpur, and Pitt Street in Sydney.
  • Growth momentum: Sephora SEAO continues to experience rapid regional growth through new store openings and expanding business channels, including Click & Collect and marketplace.

Director, Total Rewards and HR Operations

Position Purpose:


Sephora Southeast Asia and Oceania (SEAO) is recruiting a Director, Total Rewards and HR Operations to champion an efficient, data-driven, and compliant people function where our teams are supported by best-in-class processes and insights.

As Director, Total Rewards and HR Operations, you will oversee Compensation & Benefits, HR Controlling, Data Analytics, HR Operations, HR Governance, and HR Technology. Reporting to the HRVP SEAO, you will:

  • Co-design and lead the implementation of our total rewards and people analytics strategy in line with Sephora SEAO’s business vision.
  • Drive a high-performance culture through robust HR controlling, data-driven decision-making, and cost optimization.
  • Ensure operational excellence across HR processes, including payroll, systems, and employee lifecycle management.
  • Establish strong governance frameworks to ensure compliance, consistency, and risk mitigation across the region.
  • Manage HR systems and HR Technology to enable the business through reliable platforms, accurate data, and efficient processes.

Direct Reports

  • Lead a team of five, including the Manager, Total Rewards; Manager, HR Technology; and Manager, HR Operations.

HR Policy Governance

  • Define, structure, and continuously enhance HR policies and frameworks to ensure alignment with Sephora SEAO’s strategic objectives, as well as local regulations and global guidelines.
  • Drive awareness and adoption of HR policies by educating leaders, senior executives, and employees, ensuring proper and consistent implementation.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Partner with the HRBP Director to design, implement, and continuously evolve Sephora SEAO’s total rewards strategy, ensuring market competitiveness and internal equity.
  • Lead the annual salary review process, design compensation proposals for the head office population, and oversee retail salary structures.
  • Anticipate changes in local markets that may affect employee compensation & benefits packages.
  • Lead the review, negotiation, and renewal of insurance programs (medical, life, work injury compensation).
  • Promote Compensation & Benefits initiatives across the organization to ensure visibility, understanding, and engagement with the total rewards offering.

HR Controlling & Analytics

  • Lead HR controlling activities, including headcount tracking, people cost monitoring, and budget governance.
  • Develop accurate workforce and cost forecasts, partnering closely with Finance and Retail teams.
  • Drive data-driven decision-making by delivering insightful HR analytics and dashboards to senior leadership.
  • Ensure a high degree of automation and standardization, while promoting best-practice sharing between HR and Finance.

HR Audit Review & Compliance

  • Ensure full compliance with local labor laws, internal policies, and Sephora and LVMH global standards across all HR activities.
  • Lead HR audits and implement robust controls to enhance data integrity, process reliability, and risk mitigation.
  • Identify gaps and recommend continuous improvements to strengthen governance frameworks.

HR Operations and Technology

  • Lead and develop the HR Operations team while overseeing end-to-end HR operations, including payroll, employee lifecycle management, and HR systems, to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and a seamless employee experience.
  • Oversee HRIT to ensure smooth operations and timely functionality updates as needed.
  • Lead the internationalization and transformation of the HR Operations function within Sephora, ensuring scalability and standardization. Leverage digital tools and automation to modernize HR operations.
  • Continuously review and enhance HR operational processes to improve efficiency, reduce manual work, strengthen controls, and elevate service delivery.
  • Establish and monitor HR delivery standards (SLAs), ensuring high-quality support to employees and stakeholders.

Experience and technical expertise

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
  • 10+ years of experience in Compensation & Benefits, ideally within the retail, hospitality, or broader service industry.
  • Strong familiarity with HRIS platforms, with hands-on experience preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Proven stakeholder management skills, with the ability to navigate a matrix organization and partner effectively with global and regional teams.
  • Strong influencing skills, with the confidence to engage, advise, and align stakeholders at all levels of the business.
