You are a senior technology transformation leader with the credibility and judgement to operate at system scale and executive level who can create a unique and lasting impact.
You have the opportunity to lead one of NSW’s complex technology environments—resetting the legacy tolling ecosystem and shaping a future ready, customer centred platform that millions rely on every day.
In this role, you'll:
Join NSW Motorways that was created as a key recommendation of the 2024 Independent Toll Review. By prioritising the needs of motorists, NSW Motorways is dedicated to delivering a safer, fairer and more integrated transport system. It is also responsible for the oversight, management and strategic coordination of the NSW tolled motorway network.
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, you will put your mark on a state significant transformation, leading the strategic overhaul of Transport for NSW’s tolling technology landscape. This is a rare opportunity to steward a legacy system few truly understand—while defining what comes next.
You will take the tolling environment through its next chapter: from deep discovery of existing platforms and dependencies, to setting a clear future technology strategy, and into disciplined, high impact delivery. You will balance continuity with change, ensuring daily operations remain stable while transformation is executed at scale. As such, you will oversee risk management, operational continuity and transition‑to‑operations to ensure seamless performance throughout the transformation lifecycle.
Success in this role goes beyond technology replacement, you will ensure technology decisions are informed by genuine customer and motorist outcomes, embedding a strong customer lens across system design, prioritisation and delivery.
Operating with significant autonomy, you will engage at executive, ministerial adjacent and industry levels - shaping funding cases, orchestrating vendor strategy and confidently navigating a complex regulatory and public scrutiny environment. You will also prepare and manage funding submissions and investment cases that support future technology requirements and program delivery.
This is a full-time fixed term (up to 30/06/2028) Transport Senior Service Executive TSSE1B level role, offering an attractive remuneration package.
