Job Description

Our team and what we'll accomplish together

Join the Chief Technology Office team where we're transforming how TELUS manages and operates our network infrastructure through AI and intelligent automation. You'll guide the design and delivery of automation use cases that reduce manual provisioning, accelerate network configuration, and enable self-managing operations across our wireless, wireline, and edge computing platforms. This is a pivotal role where your vision and influence drive the evolution to autonomous networks - using technologies from machine learning and predictive analytics to AI-enabled orchestration—while building a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within your team.

What you'll do

  • Guide the design and delivery of network automation use cases that reduce manual provisioning and accelerate configuration across wireless, wireline, and edge computing platforms
  • Collaborate with external partners and stakeholders to architect, develop, and implement end-to-end automation solutions that improve operational efficiency and partner with cross-functional teams across the organization to translate business requirements into scalable, cloud-based automation solutions
  • Shape and communicate a vision for autonomous networks to enable self-managing network operations, and foster the adoption of AI, machine learning, and modern software engineering practices within your team
  • Drive the development of a transformational federated inventory system and network digital twin.
  • Foster change by building a culture of continuous improvement in software engineering practices, cloud-based skills, and technical excellence to deliver high-quality solutions at scale

What you bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field
  • 10+ years of experience in software development, cloud platform engineering, or related technical leadership roles
  • Deep knowledge of AI, machine learning, and their applications in network operations and automation
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across organizational boundaries
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing scalable, cloud-based systems and platforms
  • Demonstrated experience leading technical teams through significant transformation and change management initiatives
  • Strong understanding of modern software engineering practices, including DevOps, CI/CD, and agile methodologies
  • Experience in telecommunications, network operations, or infrastructure environments

Great-to-haves

  • Experience managing and collaborating with geographically dispersed teams
  • Recognized expertise in autonomous networks, network automation, or AI-enabled infrastructure

Advanced knowledge of English is required because you will most of the time interact in English with external parties (clients, suppliers, candidates, external partners, etc.); interact in English with internal parties (colleagues, internal partners, stakeholders, etc.); and work with IT tools whose interface is only accessible in English as part of this position's main responsibilities given its national scope. # LI-Remote
