Power your future with Qualus supporting our Talent Acquisition team as our Director of Talent Acquisition. The Director of Talent Acquisition will lead and scale the recruitment function for Qualus across U.S and Canada. This role is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive talent acquisition strategy that enables the company to attract, hire, and retain top technical and professional talent in a highly competitive market.
The Director will lead a high-performing team of recruiters focused on complex and hard-to-fill engineering and advisory roles while acting as a strategic business partner to leadership and hiring managers across the organization. This role will oversee recruiting operations, optimize the applicant tracking system (iCIMS), implement innovative sourcing strategies, and leverage data and analytics to drive continuous improvement and hiring outcomes.
This position reports directly to the Chief Human Resources Officer and plays a key role in shaping the organization’s long-term workforce and talent strategy.
Talent Acquisition Strategy & Leadership:
Recruiting & Workforce Planning
Oversee full-cycle recruitment for key and hard-to-fill positions, particularly engineering and technical roles within the power and energy industry.
Collaborate with hiring managers to define role requirements and build targeted sourcing and recruitment strategies.
Establish proactive talent pipelines and long-term candidate engagement strategies for critical skill areas.
Ensure an exceptional candidate and hiring manager experience throughout the recruitment lifecycle.
Sourcing & Talent Market Strategy
Design and implement innovative sourcing strategies to attract top engineering and technical talent.
Strengthen employer branding initiatives and enhance the company's presence across relevant professional networks and talent communities.
Identify new recruitment channels, partnerships, and technology solutions to support talent attraction.
Recruitment Operations & Technology
Oversee and optimize the company’s ATS/HRIS platform (e.g., iCIMS or similar) to streamline workflows and improve recruitment efficiency.
Ensure best practices in recruiting processes, compliance, and documentation across the organization.
Evaluate and implement recruitment tools and technologies to improve sourcing, screening, and reporting capabilities.
Data, Metrics & Reporting
Utilize data analytics and workforce metrics to assess the effectiveness of recruitment strategies.
Develop and maintain comprehensive recruitment dashboards and KPI reporting for executive leadership.
Monitor and analyze key metrics such as time-to-fill, quality-of-hire, source effectiveness, cost-per-hire, and recruiter productivity.
Provide insights and recommendations to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Facilitate regular communication with business leaders and HR partners to provide updates on recruiting progress, challenges, and solutions.
Partner with HR leadership to align talent acquisition with broader talent management and workforce planning initiatives.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
8+ years of progressive talent acquisition experience, including leadership of recruiting teams
Proven success building and scaling recruiting functions in high-growth environments
Experience recruiting technical and engineering talent, ideally within engineering consulting, energy, infrastructure, or related industries
Strong experience with ATS platforms such as iCIMS or similar systems
Demonstrated ability to use data and analytics to inform recruitment strategy and decision-making
Experience leading recruitment efforts in fast-paced, competitive talent markets

The expected compensation range for this position is based upon several factors, including but not limited to education, qualifications, prior relevant work experience and work location.
