Title: Director, Sustainable Sourcing & Supplier Inclusion
The Director, Sustainable Sourcing and Supplier Inclusion will be responsible for defining the strategy and long term action plans for sustainable sourcing of materials and services that meet the 2030 objectives for Colgate. Additionally, this leader will create and drive the corporate strategy and approach to supplier inclusion. This role will direct many areas of compliance in ingredients transparency, sustainability, responsible sourcing and procurement practices, including designing training programs and materials for the Global Procurement team, key internal partners, and suppliers.
The successful candidate will have strong leadership skills and will be able to translate strategic vision into actionable goals and measures. He or she must be comfortable engaging with a broad set of external constituents, including NGOs, thought leaders and coalition members to represent Colgate goals and commitments. He or she must be able to communicate technical / specialist knowledge and best practices to a broad audience of internal stakeholders in an informative and succinct manner. He or she has prior experience in aligning key stakeholders and business partners to advance a growth agenda within a global publicly held company.
Responsibilities:
Define and lead the Sustainable Sourcing Strategy to implement the portfolio of actions critical to deliver our 11 stated ambitions related to Forest Positive, Net Zero Carbon, Human Rights, Plastics Circularity, Water Security, and Regulations
Create and drive forward the corporate strategy and approach to supplier inclusion.
Build consensus and alignment with key stakeholders in procurement, technology and supply chain to align execution behind sustainable sourcing investments and priorities.
Develop best practices for learning and training on a myriad of procurement compliance actions, including ingredient transparency, procurement policy, supplier audits, ESG, strategic partnership contracting and sustainability reporting that demonstrate competencies in transforming the sourcing decisions essential to sustainability and innovation
Integrate compliance program actions to the CBS organizations to codify the data and reporting processes essential to long term visibility of sustainability progress and to new external reporting requirements
Provide thought leadership, strategic direction and timely execution on global sourcing transformation needed in raw and packaging materials to meet sustainability goals.
Build relationships with key suppliers for the execution of strategy, including assurance, price, innovation and sustainability.
Develop a team of sustainability and supplier inclusion specialists, capable of working across categories and divisions, who can influence decision making and swift actions.
Analyze and develop a deep understanding of the future supply markets of recyclable, sustainable materials, including external economic factors which influence those markets and cost correlations.
Provide regular updates to key senior leadership team members upon request.
Represent Colgate-Palmolive at relevant industry meetings and events.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields such as economics, finance, or supply chain.
Minimum 15 years leading materials or commodity procurement teams, materials risk management programs, or strategic sourcing of a broad commodity or materials portfolio globally.
Fluency in creating insightful, actionable sustainability, innovation and partnership strategies.
Firm understanding of change management required to transition from materials sourcing strategies to materials transformation execution for a multi-country global organization.
Experience engaging and contracting with external strategic partners.
Experience on large-scale change management projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree.
Experience in procurement/sourcing in global organizations or with consulting experience in this specified field.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $176,000.00 - $220,000.00 USD
Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.
Benefits: Salaried employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, paid parental leave, disability coverage, and participation in the 401(k) retirement plan with company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements. Additional benefits include a minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays (vacation days are prorated based on the employee's hire date within the calendar year). Paid sick leave is adjusted based on role and location in accordance with local laws. Detailed information regarding paid sick leave entitlements will be provided to employees upon hiring and may be subject to adjustments based on changes in legislation or company policies.
