Job Description

Location: Phuket, Thailand

Position Specific Requirements:

1. Sustainability Strategy & Site-Level Implementation

  • Implement Banyan Group's sustainability strategy at LRH properties and localise group campaigns (e.g. Brand for Good).
  • Drive climate action/decarbonisation, energy efficiency, biodiversity and rewilding, waste reduction, and water stewardship initiatives with Engineering, Purchasing, and property champions.
  • Support Purchasing/F&B in rolling out sustainable procurement SOPs.
  • Maintain the LRH Sustainability Champion network, including monthly champion meetings and one-on-one support.

2. Team Leadership & Supervision

  • Supervise and develop the Assistant Sustainability & Community Relations Manager and the Sustainability & Community Relations Coordinator — set priorities, review work, and support performance and growth.
  • Approve day-to-day departmental operations, expenses, cash advances, memos, and budget items within delegated authority; escalate items above authority to Group Sustainability.
  • Ensure the CSR team's annual activity calendar is resourced, delivered, and properly documented.

3. ESG Data, Reporting & Compliance

  • Own preparation of the LRH-specific ESG report for SET (Stock Exchange of Thailand) submission and consolidation into Group reporting.
  • Ensure properties submit complete, accurate sustainability data monthly; follow up to resolve gaps.
  • Coordinate audit and certification readiness; support properties pursuing sustainability certification.
  • Co-develop data collection/reporting guidelines with Group Sustainability and deliver related training to property champions.

4. Guest & Community Engagement

  • Ensure each property delivers a distinctive Stay for Good experience; coordinate monthly sustainability-themed and celebration-day activities.
  • Lead LRH community and impact projects (e.g., partnerships, BGF Core programmes); manage engagement with NGOs, schools, universities, and government bodies.
  • Represent LRH sustainability at external forums and share key takeaways with Group Sustainability.

5. Governance & Group Collaboration

  • Act as the main point of contact for LRH-level sustainability queries, coordinating input from properties for Group Sustainability.
  • Join monthly Group sustainability updates and contribute case studies/progress reports for Group communications.
  • Monitor property compliance with Group sustainability KPIs and policies (e.g., scorecard); coordinate with HC on scorecard follow-up.
  • Collect sustainability stories, best practices and project records in the Sustainability SharePoint story bank.

6. Budget & Resource Management

  • Own sustainability budget tracking and monthly utilisation review for LRH sustainability programmes.
  • Identify and propose funding opportunities, including BGF and external sources.
  • Prepare and manage budgets for sustainability and community programmes.

Position Specific Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Studies, Community Development, Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related field (Master's an advantage).
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in sustainability, ESG, or CSR, including at least 2–3 years in a supervisory/managerial capacity; hospitality or multi-property corporate environment strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing ESG/sustainability disclosures for regulatory or stock-exchange reporting (SET 56-1 One Report, GRI, ISSB, or equivalent).
  • Experience in waste management or circular economy (e.g., composting, recycling systems, waste diversion, or vendor/consultant management for waste operations) is a plus.
  • Experience managing budgets, vendor/partner relationships, and cross-functional or direct-report teams.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across government agencies, NGOs, senior leadership, and community partners.
  • Fluency in English and Thai, spoken and written, given local government and community liaison requirements.
  • Proven people-management and coaching ability; capable of leading a small team while operating independently in a fast-paced, multi-stakeholder environment.
