The sustainability director leads the OU sustainability strategy execution and contributes to the development and communication ofthesustainability strategy,goalsandobjectivesThesustainability leader role reportstothe OU QSE leadand will be responsible forbuilding and aligning for executionof the strategyin partnership with the bottling operations, corporate teams and other relevant stakeholders;this position will also leadcapability development initiatives across the organization, drive the efforts to embed sustainability priorities in the business decision-making and support OU/system ABP and LRP with relevant inputs for financial and operational planning.
The roleis responsiblefordrivingthe Company governance framework, ensure compliance with KO and locally relevantregulatoryrequirements for operations and sustainability data reporting.This will be achieved by, among other things,maintainingconstructiverelationships withrelevantgovernment agencies and other regulatory authorities,providingexpertiseto external organizations/committeeswith focus on packaging,waterand climate topics,and by ensuring access to internal and external innovation
The scope of the role isoperational sustainability leadership includingWater,Carbon/Climate andPackagingfor the JSK OU and system partners.
The role has directimpact and influence over the development of themostoptimumOU sustainability strategy and implementation plan in line with the global sustainability strategy and TCCS sustainability commitments
The rolesupports theOU sustainability OPEX/CAPEX decisions and leads an organization of OU sustainability thought managerscovering the functional areas packaging, climate/carbon, water, waste management, circulareconomyand operational sustainability strategies.

Technical sustainability strategy: ensure within the global sustainability strategy and commitments theoptimumand accelerated implementation of the OU sustainability strategy. Define and steward the OU sustainability strategy, commitments,initiativesand prioritization to implement the OU growth agenda. Ensure accelerated progress of sustainability commitments across water, carbon/climate and packaging while ensuring OU sustainability-by-design leadership in innovation and across the supply chain.Influence theOUsustainability agenda and investments.
Governanceand compliance: Ensure all license-to-operate and KORE sustainabilityrequirements, OU governanceisin place in line with the global governance framework requirements.
Innovation: Ensure the technical sustainability innovation pipelineand agendais in place, drive top and bottom-line growth and create competitiveadvantage Lead theimplementationsupport for all operational sustainability aspects thatprotectand enhance our regional and corporate reputation.
OU sustainability network orchestration: Drive organizational alignment on operational sustainability across OU-Bottling partners andrelevant functions Active contributortothe Global Environmental Council. Champion KO System sustainabilityto enable business growth. Bring the external view in, drive external engagement and benchmarking, ensure leadership presence in industry associations.
Determinethe OU water risk management framework and priorities, work withbusinessto drive water risk assessments and monitor water risks withfocuson local operations
Providetechnical guidance onestablishingcollection schemes in markets
Influence and shape technical sustainability investment plans including complex analysis of costinfrastructure developmentsandstrategic partnerships(e.g.: collection and recycling, start-upscollaboration) Close collaboration with key stakeholders such as PACS, OUCommercial/Brand and Bottling counterpartleadership teams, including shaping thesustainability communication strategy and execution plans
Connect with external and internal networks and stakeholders to drive performance and benchmarking efforts, shape forward-looking strategies and transform people and organizational capabilities accordingly.
Qualifications & Requirements
University/bachelor’s degree in science, Technology or Engineering.
Excellent technical understanding ofenvironment,waterandenergy management.
At least5+ years of experience in the Sustainability field at corporate sustainability capacity,consultantor energy developer.
Passion for Sustainability and its intersection with business.
Attentive tonew trendsin the industry and requirements in the Climate/Water work spectrum.
Communication skills to collaborate with multiple stakeholders.
Comfortable with ambiguity and uncertainty whenestablishingnew processes and workflows.
Good strategicthinkerto translatevision/strategy into clear execution plans
Advanced English and Japanese.
Leadership experience in leading transformation programs and change management. Technical operations,manufacturingor supply chain and QSE operations experience >5years with people management experience.
