A Brief Overview
The Strategic Sourcing Director is responsible for providing direction and strategy to the sourcing department and managing the clinically integrated supply chain within Stormont Vail Health. This position is responsible for leading the Value Analysis committees, annual savings targets, supplier contracting and strategic product sourcing.

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree Business Administration, Supply Chain, Finance, Information Technology, Statistics or a related degree. Required
  • Master's Degree Master's in Business Administration (MBA). Preferred


Experience Qualifications

  • 5 years Purchasing, distribution, data management experience. Required
  • 2 years Supervision experience. Required
  • 2 years Experience in healthcare Supply Chain Management. Preferred
  • ERP experience (Workday). Preferred


Skills and Abilities

  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). (Required proficiency)


What you will do

  • Assists with conducting assessments to identify issues and opportunities, measure and quantify impact, propose solutions, and present the business case for change.
  • In conjunction with the System Director, develops the internal policies, procedures and strategy to provide for accountability of all sourcing. Serves as designee for System Director when needed.
  • Monitors and tracks productivity and performance metrics standards souring and savings initiatives and reports results to System Director, continuously seeking improvement opportunities.
  • Assists System Director in preparation of the annual budget and assures adherence on a monthly basis.
  • Responsible for the Sourcing components of the ERP system including but not limited to inventory master, pricing, units of measure and vendors.
  • Submit RFPs to vendors, analyze responses and negotiate pricing and terms as part of Stormont Vail’s capital acquisition process.
  • Creates and maintains disaster preparedness plans for department and to meet Joint Commission requirements.
  • Negotiate contractual terms with suppliers and in a timely and professional manner.
  • Manages the performance improvement and safety activities of the Sourcing department to meet all regulatory agency requirements and customer needs.
