Job Title: Director, Supply Chain Programs & Planning
Location: San Antonio, TX preferred. Relocation assistance within the U.S. is available. This role may also be based at any of StandardAero’s major U.S. sites.

The Director, Supply Chain Programs & Planning will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of all supply chain, sourcing, and forecasting functions within the San Antonio MRO facility. This role is responsible for developing and executing enterprise-level supply chain strategies, ensuring operational performance, cost competitiveness, and risk mitigation while supporting both commercial and military aviation programs.

The Director will lead a high-performing team, manage complex OEM and supplier relationships, and drive continuous improvement initiatives to ensure supply chain alignment with StandardAero’s growth and operational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Supply Chain Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop supply chain team members, building organizational capability and a high-performance culture.
  • Standardize processes, tools, and metrics across sites and programs in partnership with global supply chain leadership.
  • Act as a change agent to ensure adoption of new systems, processes, and best practices.
  • Apply RCCA (Root Cause & Corrective Action) processes to resolve systemic supply chain issues.

Material Planning & Forecasting

  • Develop robust demand, supply, and financial forecasts to support long-range program plans and monthly business reviews, integrated with the SIOP process.
  • Implement advanced forecasting methodologies, predictive analytics, and market intelligence.
  • Manage Excess & Obsolescent (E&O) inventory and coordinate disposition with OEMs and key suppliers.

Supplier/OEM Relationship & Performance

  • Build and maintain strong OEM and supplier partnerships to ensure long-term value and operational reliability.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs for quality, cost, delivery, sustainability, and contractual compliance.
  • Lead supplier business reviews, negotiate contracts, and resolve performance issues.
  • Serve as Small Business Liaison and manage offset obligations.

Strategic Sourcing

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies to optimize cost, quality, delivery, and risk across program spend.
  • Translate operational and technical requirements into actionable sourcing strategies, integrating with SIOP.
  • Lead supplier selection, negotiation, and contracting, partnering with global supply chain and operations teams.
  • Monitor global market trends, commodity risks, and supply chain dynamics to guide sourcing decisions.

Leadership & Workforce Development

  • Direct on-the-job training initiatives to build technical and functional capability across the supply chain team.
  • Promote employee engagement, accountability, and a culture of problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Align team objectives with StandardAero’s vision, mission, and values.

Direct Reports: Strategic Sourcing Manager, Planning & Forecasting Manager
Indirect Reports: 10 (various strategic sourcing, planning, and supply recovery staff)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field
  • 10+ years of progressive supply chain leadership experience, preferably in aerospace, aviation, or MRO
  • Proven success managing procurement budgets, vendors, and subcontractor performance
  • Expertise in material forecasting, planning, and ERP/MRP systems
  • Strong leadership and strategic decision-making skills
  • Negotiation and relationship management with OEMs and suppliers
  • Continuous improvement expertise (Lean, Six Sigma)
  • Financial acumen, including budget management and cost control
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements (FAA/EASA Part 145, AS9100, ITAR, etc.)

Preferred Characteristics:

  • MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • CPIM, CSCP, CPSM, Lean & Six Sigma certifications considered an asset
