Silk & Snow is seeking a Director, Supply Chain to lead the end-to-end supply chain operations across inbound supply, international logistics, fulfillment, and reverse logistics. Reporting to the COO, you will lead the Manager, Supply & Inbound Operations and the Manager, Fulfillment Operations, and partner closely with the Sr Manager, Demand Planning.
In this role you will:
Supply Chain Strategy & Network Design
- Own the Canada/US distribution network strategy including the role of import hubs and regional DCs
- Set the inbound and outbound transportation strategy providing a clear decision frameworks around the internal vs outsourced decisions across final mile and warehousing
- Lead executive-level negotiations and strategic relationships with ocean carriers, 3PLs, customs brokers, parcel and courier carriers (FedEx, UPS, DHL, Canada Post, Purolator), final-mile delivery operators, and retailer routing partners
- Lead the strategic decisions on warehouse capacity, footprint, and operating model (internally operated versus 3PL, single hub versus distributed, leased versus owned) and build business cases to support each decision
- Define the multi-year supply chain roadmap, including technology, process, and capability investments including key input from Senior Leaders and stakeholders
Performance & Cost Management
- Build the disciplines of a maturing enterprise including communication and reporting cadence, SOPs, and reporting infrastructure that allow the function to scale with volume rather than headcount
- Own the supply chain P&L line items, including freight, brokerage, warehousing, parcel, returns, duty, and demurrage, and deliver against budget targets
- Own the supply chain KPI scorecard for retail and DC stock levels, DTC fulfillment SLA, inventory turns, working capital impact, returns rate, and cost-to-serve by channel
- Lead the negotiation and ongoing management of master courier and final-mile delivery contracts (FedEx, UPS, DHL, Canada Post, Purolator, and final-mile operators); manage total delivery cost as a percentage of revenue across DTC and home-delivery channels
- Lead the negotiation and ongoing management of strategic 3PL contracts; manage total storage and warehouse operating costs across internally operated facilities and 3PL relationships, holding storage cost as a percentage of revenue to target
- Oversee landed cost, margin, working capital, and supply chain budget in partnership with Finance
- Represent Supply Chain in reporting on cost, service, and risk to the broader leadership team
- Approve major contracts and partner engagements; resolve escalations that cross functional boundaries resulting in long term relationships
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Co-own the service level, inventory health, and landed cost across channels in Partnership with the Sr Manager, Demand Planning
- Partner with Merchandising and Brand teams on launch readiness, promo support, and lifecycle planning (NPI and EOL)
- Partner with Customer Experience and Merchandising team on fulfillment service recovery and customer-facing SLAs
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop the Manager, Supply & Inbound Operations and Manager, Fulfillment Operations; building the talent bench strength through internal development and selective hiring.
- Set clear goals, priorities, expectations, and performance standards for direct reports and their teams.
- Direct and support the Manager, Supply & Inbound Operations across vendor production, international freight, customs clearance, and trade compliance for Canada and US imports.
- Direct and support the Manager, Fulfillment Operations across DTC, retail, and wholesale fulfillment, returns and reverse logistics, retailer routing compliance, the day-to-day operational and cost performance of internally operated warehouses and 3PL partner sites, and the management of parcel carriers and final-mile delivery partners across Canada and the US.
The Qualifications and Experience we like to see:
- University Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering or related discipline
- 10+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or operations
- 4 years of experience in leading other managers in an omnichannel retail, DTC, or eCommerce business
- Demonstrated experience operating across both Canada and the US, including dual-customs, cross-border distribution, and multi-channel fulfillment
- Track record of building or scaling supply chain functions in a high-growth or transformation environment
- Proven ability to negotiate at the executive level with ocean carriers, 3PLs, parcel carriers, customs brokers, and retailer supply chain organizations
- Strong financial fluency and comfortable owning a multi-million-dollar cost base and partnering with Finance on landed cost, margin, and working capital
- Comfort with an eCommerce-first technology stack including Shopify, Fulfil.io, or comparable alongside familiarity with traditional ERP and TMS platforms

Additional Information:
This is a current open position. The salary range for this position is $130,000.00 - $150,000.00 annually. Actual salary for the role may vary depending on work location of the successful candidate and other factors including but not limited to, skills, education, experience, working conditions and the local labour market.
