The Director Supply Chain is a leader responsible for designing,optimizing, and executing end-to-end supply chain and distribution strategies that ensure product availability, operational efficiency, and scalable growth. This role drives continuous improvement across systems, processes, and warehouse operations while translating supply chain strategy into practical, data-driven executionThe DirectorSupply Chainpartners closely with Operations, Sales, Finance, IT, and Procurementto ensure SKU-level accuracy, efficient inventory deployment, and innovative solutions to complex distribution challenges.

Work Tasks

ADirector Supply Chaincan be expected to perform the following tasks in this role as a routine part of their job:

  • Supply Chain Strategy(25%)

  • Develops and executes distribution-focused supply chain strategies aligned to business growth, service-level expectations, and cost targets.

  • Translates enterprise supply chain strategy into scalablewarehouse, transportation, and inventory operating models.

  • Leads end-to-end planning and execution of large-scale, enterprise initiatives across Supply Chain

  • Leads network optimization initiatives including facilityutilization, throughput capacity, and distribution footprint.

  • Systems, Processes,Operational Efficiencyand Problem Resolution(25%)

  • Ownssupply chain systems effectiveness, including WMS, ERP, forecasting, and inventory management tools.

  • Standardizesandoptimizesdistribution processes to improve accuracy, productivity, and cost per case.

  • Tracksprogress and performance using clear metrics; provide executive-level updates, remove blockers, and drivetimelydecisions.

  • Drivescontinuous improvement through Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies toeliminatewaste and increase operational efficiency.

  • Analyzescomplex supply chain constraints, assess risk, and make informed decisions that balance service, cost, and capacity.

  • Proactivelyidentifiesoperational bottlenecks and implement sustainable solutions.

  • Leadsscenario modeling and contingency planning for supply disruptions, demand volatility, and capacity constraints.

  • SKU Application and Inventory Management(15%)

  • Setsprogramandportfolio governance (operatingrhythms, decision forums, escalation paths, and accountability) to ensure disciplined execution.

  • Providesstrategic oversight of SKU proliferation, slotting strategies, and item-level inventory deployment across distribution centers.

  • Partnerswith Customer Growth Strategyteams to align SKUapplicationwith demand patterns, service requirements, and profitability.

  • Ensureshigh levelsof inventory accuracy, cycle counting discipline, and root-cause resolution for variances

  • Proactively managesrisks and issues;implements mitigationplans and ensuresdelivery against commitments.

  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement(10%)

  • Championsinnovative thinking across distribution operations, systems design, and workforce models.

  • Drivesprocess improvements and operational efficiencies by standardizing best practices, improving mechanisms, and scaling repeatable playbooks.

  • Evaluatesandpilotsnew technologies, automation, and process improvements to enhance speed, accuracy, and scalability.

  • Fostersa culture of curiosity, experimentation, and data-driven decision-making.

  • Cross-Functional Leadership and Collaboration(10%)

  • Builds, leads, and developshigh-performing supply chain teams.

  • Servesas a trusted partner to executive leadership, translating operational insights into strategic recommendations.

  • Engagesand alignssenior stakeholders across Supply Chain, Finance,Information Technology, SalesOperations, and other partner teams to deliver outcomes.

  • Influencesacross functions without direct authority to drive alignment and execution.

  • Team Coaching and Development (10%)

  • Managesone or more Supply Chainteams ensuring proper training, development, performancecoachingand evaluation.

  • Ensures all team members have the knowledge and tools needed to perform their job responsibilities.

  • Ensuresall team members areproperly trainedand coached for their individual roles.

  • Sets clear performance standards and coaches team member development

  • Providestimelycoaching and feedback to team members/peers.

Here's what you must have to be considered for this role...

  • Bachelor’s Degree inSupply Chain Management, Operations,Logistics,Business or Other Related Field

  • Ten Plus Years of Progressively ResponsibleSupply Chain or Distribution Leadership, including Mulit-site Operations

  • Strong Financial and Business Acumen; Ability to Link Operational Decisions to Cost, Margin, and Service Outcomes

  • Demonstrated Success Leading Large-scale Distribution,Inventory, and Process Optimization Initiatives

  • Three Plus Years of Supervisory Experience

  • Experience Leveraging ERP, WMS, andAdvanced Planning Systems

  • Advanced Technology and Data Analysis Skills
