We are seeking a Director of Substance Use to join our organization. This role will play a pivotal role in our development and launch of a PHP / IOP program specific to co-occurring mental health disorders and substance use disorders.
We are seeking experienced clinicians with past management experience and a passion for delivering evidence-based therapy to young adults and adults with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing direct managerial oversight to Primary Therapists and Group/Milieu Therapists as needed
- Identifying hiring/staffing needs and participating in interviewing and hiring process
- Executing new hire onboarding and staff development
- Initiating employee performance appraisal and staff performance improvement program compliance with accrediting bodies
- Leading the day to day execution of policies and procedures as well as the mission and objectives of Compass
- Managing program paid time off to ensure adequate staffing patterns
- Managing Program Intake schedule with assistance from Senior Director
- Responding to clinical crises as needed and coordinating response of others
- Development and implementation of program material and curriculum
- Continued development and refinement of Compass’ substance programming (i.e. creating new groups, addressing individual patient needs in the context of the program, etc.)
- As indicated, participating in community outreach
- Overseeing calls about program eligibility and appropriateness. Ensures referrals are provided as needed
- Conducting clinical intakes to identify clinical diagnoses, functional impairment, personal strengths and make treatment recommendations
- Providing group, individual, and family therapy, as needed
- Communicating with patient’s family members or support system, as needed
- Coordinating care with patient’s outside providers to ensure continuity of care
- Assessing patient’s progress and need for higher level of care or discharge
- Engaging in frequent communication and collaboration with team members via rounds, EMR notes, emails, and face-to-face communication
- Charting progress of patients appropriately
- Participating in professional development activities
You would be the ideal candidate, if you:
- Are a Psychologist or Master’s level clinician with 5+ years of clinical experience conducting intakes, assessments, individual, family, and group therapy
- Hold the following licenses or certifications: PhD, PsyD, LCSW, LMFT, LCPC with the addition of a CADC, CSADC or CAADC highly preferred
- Have knowledge and experience of group dynamics utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), as well as other empirically supported treatments for co-occurring disorders
- Have previous experience with patients in crisis
- Have experience providing direct service in substance use while using the ASAM patient placement Criteria.
- Possess clinical experience conducting intakes, assessments, individual, family, and group therapy
- Have experience in a supervisory or leadership role
- Have previous experience with program development and implementation experience.
